you can only use the statistical data that is put in front of you - a 1 in 10 finishing conversion however you attempt to spin it isn't good enough

No it is not good enough, but it also doesn't say we are creating good chances as a team or that simply buying a finisher will resolve the problem.

But I think if you have watched the games you could see that with your own eyes (I'm not intimating you havent watched the games by the way)

We have missed really easy chances on frequent occasions and that has cost us

and that is a subjective point of view as it also doesn't tell you that they aren't good chances, and what is a good chance? again subjective as it actually means nothing it's either a chance or it isn't

Things like hitting the goal frame 11 times should give you an indication though that there is a decent proportion of chances were as you call it good chances

We have, what worries me is that most of it seems to come through Suarez, both in terms of creativity and the chance.

Yes it is, that just comes from what I think we have done.
We also hit the post in 2006/07 more than anyone else too.

There are some decent chances, not enough that aren't entirely around Suarez imo though.

Fair enough, it is just my opinion.
Maxi has shown a good scoring rate through out his career though.

agree about Suarez, we need others to raise their games.

I don’t think its that bad

Hes missed chances some hes created himself some created by others

However the FACT that Downing, Henderson & Carroll have all missed chances (they are responsible for more than 50% of the times we have hit the woodwork) also shows its not all about Suarez

                      Its all of them

He needs to raise his game as well

His finishing is woeful at times, whether self created chances or those created by others

Its a far lower standard than you could expect from a player of his undoubted quality

They have missed chances yes, but the only true poor chances that spring to mind are Carroll's header v Swansea and the collection of misses in about 5 seconds v Stoke. The others were not so easy especially shooting from distance.

With out Suarez I think we would have serious attacking issues.

I dont think we have, he has been playing the VAST majority of games and like many of his counterparts is missing chances so you cant say hes been taken out of the side and replaced with Carroll thats nonsense

For me Maxi & Meireles hit once in a career hot spots for us last season

I seriously doubt they could EVER repeat that kind of goalscoring form again

Meireles scored 15 goals in 138 games for Porto, got 5 in 35 for LFC and so far has 1 in 8 for Chelsea
You should perhaps do your research a bit better mate, Maxi's always been a consistent goalscorer from midfield, pretty much throughout his career.

If anything, a season where he doesnt contribute goals, is more like a 'once in a career' campaign than one where he does.

The stats relate to chances, not shots.

A shot from the halfway line wouldnt count, as it is not a chance.

Suarez has missed other chances as well in other games that you would expect him to score

Carroll has missed a few headers I’d expect him to finish as well

I must say I haven’t been disappointed by our play generally (apart from the odd game)

However I have been extremely disappointed with our general finishing its has been woefully sub-standard

I am not advocating dropping Suarez in anyway but as I have said countless times his finishing is dreadful at times and I don’t think changing formation, players etc... can improve that its down to him to improve that just like its down to Carroll et al to improve their own finishing
