Despite losing, Arsenal have impressed me today. Top 4 is gonna be harder than I thought.

We really were spoilt for a few years under Rafa.

4th is going to be difficult, if Spurs continue their form they could be 3rd with us, Arsenal and Chelsea fighting for 4th

Our defensive play is excellent, much like we used to be under Rafa. It's due to the fact that 4 out of 5 of our back 5 have been there for a long time and know each other well. It isn't a surprise that we are so good because of that, they've picked up where they left under Rafa.

Scoring goals and quality in attack is always the most difficult thing to get and it's going to take some time. We need more quality there, shame we didn't get Mata and Silva when we were after them. They would have made us very very good.

As things stand now, if they win their game in hand at home to the bitters they'll be 8 points ahead of us and would look a very decent bet.

It hasn't got the aerial prowess of Hyppia, but overall I'd say this unit is much more fluent, and it hasn't got the luxury of a defensive midfield that provides lots of protection like the "Rafa defence" had either.

Dont really mind too much, just win at Wigan! Chelsea winning would be the worst scenario for me but then again if Spurs do lose their following 2 away games suddenly look a bit harder.

They struggled badly today without Bale and Lennon going off after 30mins. Hopefully they get a few more injuries.

I was pondering this one. Part of me wonders whether we should write off Spurs and concentrate on overhauling Chelsea and Arsenal. Not sure though, i suppose a draw = 4 dropped points across the fixture, whereas if someone wins it'll only be 3.

There's still 22 league games left, a 5/8 point lead can easily be overtaken if we can continue our current form, keep Stevie fit and strengthen in January.

Yeah that's true. I wonder if there's any logic in saying overhaul them one at a time, but i suppose if we make ground on all three over the course of the weeks, then the eventual outcome should take care of itself.

All three of them have to come to Anfield too.

Yeah a draw would be best for us it keeps it as 4 teams going for 2 places rather than 3 teams going for 1 place.

I think we have created enough chances, its just about putting them away. We could do with a brilliant playmaker but at this moment it would probably be an added bonus more than anything. The main thing is if we had someone who was a composed finisher we'd be flying up the top of the league right now. I think Suarez has been unlucky and should have had a lot more goals than he has to his name. I'd be willing to bet he'll be a 20+ goal a season striker, maybe not this season but the one's to come.

Unfair to say that, Lucas has played most of our games this season.

win as many points as we can. count them all up at the end of the season. not certain how picking one team to haul back helps in any way, it's not like we'd get to play them every week.

As long as somebody above us drops points and we dont each week I am happy. Even though we are 10 points off the pace, we have to play like we are going for the title because teams playing for 4th will end up in 6th place
