In the league we've only been beaten twice but drawn too many games. Progression isn't linear and we haven't the cash of a City, Chelsea or a United to spend on a revolution so evolution is the way forward, as slow and painful as it is at times.

Our squad is much stronger now than when Klopp took over with a front four which is the envy of most squads in Europe. We are bringing through young, talented players who will only enhance our squad further.

You stated " No need to waste time with buying more squaddies," that's exactly the approach we have adopted, we are waiting a season on Keita and would not accept 2nd choice for the CB position. Personally I think Chamberlain was a good piece of business and supports several positions in our squad.

By the looks of it, City with the strongest squad and the most renowned manager with the most money spent are on record breaking season standards so in hindsight a title push may have been out of reach anyway.

take the front 4 out of it and I think the rest are distinctly average. Those boys have got us out of jail something awful this season.

If you don't care, then maybe try not wading into threads deliberately rubbing people up the wrong way after a bad result then?

I'm barely arsed myself these days, but your definition of realistic expectations stands out as massively different to every body else's (including my own). As usual.

If people want to get upset about this stuff, let them. Find something else to do.

Well I haven't waded into the match thread lately. All I can remember is sticking up for Henderson in another thread and as usual, got **** for that

There is massive overreaction over here generally, whether we lose or win. When we win, Chris' tourettes will kick in to comment about our attack being the greatest of all time and when we lose, it's because we have the worst midfield ever.

So that's where my comments about expecting too much is about whether you agree or not.

                  On that note. Merry Christmas.

I've come to the conclusion that we're years off being anywhere near challengers and are pretty much a team of total ****e letdowns.

It's elation for a few games then it's back to the horror bore fest turgid crap we witnessed last night, makes you not want to be arsed.

I'm getting a bit ****ed off with it all tbh, tempted to do a Dom and just disappear from it all and not bother with football properly and just take a passing interest. It's a stressful and expensive experience watching Liverpool and let's face it, we've been ****e for years.

We're not going to win the league any time soon, the midfield is ****ing atrocious and so is the majority of the defence, the team bar the fab 4 and a hatful of others aren't really worthy of the shirt which imo means they're not worthy of my time.

Sorry for the down past lads. Not feeling it much at the moment.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Have you actually thought that he's right?

Our attack is great but our defence and midfield are distinctly average

You can appreciate the attack without having to defend the lack of quality in defence and midfield

Not wanting to start anything but why support Liverpool then? This site is making me more and more confused about our support. On pre-match threads people freely admit that they are not going to watch the match owing to some mundane task, then post-match they are on moaning how crap we are.

To me, we have one of the most exciting and entertaining teams I have had the pleasure to watch in over 30 years of watching Liverpool and I look forward to every game. Sure the nature of some of the defeats or draws which felt like defeats were hard to take but we are young team getter better. Would you rather watch United and their expensively assembled long ball team?

City's record this season is 16w 1d which is phenomenal, we are not at that level but no one else is. Yet we are still well placed to challenge for a higher league position than last year and who knows how far we could go in the Champions league.

Since the Spurs game in October, we have conceded only 4 goals. Bar the City, Spurs and Watford games, we have been pretty tight at the back which makes a mockery of the fact we cannot defend.
