Thanjk you.

Since the Spurs game in October, we have conceded only 4 goals. Bar the City, Spurs and Watford games, we have been pretty tight at the back which makes a mockery of the fact we cannot defend.
I would also say that our style and City's are pretty similar. High press and high possession of the ball (we must be up there with them with how much keep hold of it?). This helps a lot when defending and it's not a coincidence that City are amongst the tightest at the back despite seemingly being pretty light in that department. The system works.
Not wanting to start anything but why support Liverpool then? This site is making me more and more confused about our support. On pre-match threads people freely admit that they are not going to watch the match owing to some mundane task, then post-match they are on moaning how crap we are.
To me, we have one of the most exciting and entertaining teams I have had the pleasure to watch in over 30 years of watching Liverpool and I look forward to every game. Sure the nature of some of the defeats or draws which felt like defeats were hard to take but we are young team getter better. Would you rather watch United and their expensively assembled long ball team?
City's record this season is 16w 1d which is phenomenal, we are not at that level but no one else is. Yet we are still well placed to challenge for a higher league position than last year and who knows how far we could go in the Champions league.

Whilst not going to Fredo esque levels of ****tery, I'm constantly surprised by the relentless negativity on this site
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

They've spent massively on their defence, is way that main difference between theirs and ours is quality of the personnel

I remember that article and disagreeing with it. I think Klopp's style has changed somewhat and it's not just an all out pressing style. It's much more measured and possession and control is at the core of what he's trying to do.

We have obvious issues that can be improved upon, but that's 13 clean sheets in our last 24 PL games, which isn't bad. To say we have a good defence would be overstating it, but the accusations that Klopp can't set up a defence are clearly wrong and there is definitely reason to believe that the right addition at the back could make a big difference to our solidity.
Factoring in that we are constantly chopping and changing at the back, playing 2 rookie RB's, an extremely attack minded LB and no DM, it's quite an impressive return.
If you took out the Spurs and City results, our record would be 13 conceded in the last 22 which is excellent. And before I'm accused to twisting stats to prove a point, I'm just highlighting that adding just one player like VVD could easily have prevented those hammerings and our overall defensive record would have been as good as any.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And yet a high proportion of our goals come on the break.

Yes, that still doesn't mean we are a counter attacking side and surrender possession for the sake. We are at our best out of transition from defence to attack, definitely, maybe not as good when we try and break teams down when in possession, but it does allow us to control games when we are in the lead.
