Goalkeeper first please. A top notch one that will put that position to bed for the next few years. Then replace Lovren with someone who isn't a cluster**** waiting to happen.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

I think so. I think Lovren's actually a decent defender he just struggles without a leader there to keep him in check.

If VVD can pass on his leadership qualities to Matip then we have 2 leaders and plenty of decent defenders.

Having just signed Van Dijk, and supposedly also wanting another CB (Akanji), who do you think should leave us? We'll have too many players there, especially if we start thinking about Gomez as a CB too...

        Van Dijk
        New potential CB
        Matip
        Gomez
        Klavan
        Lovren...

Personally I know I want us to keep Klavan, he's one of those players that every top club should have, an experienced, reliable and quality player (also cheap) that can step in when necessary, but he's probably 4th or 5th in line. So right now it doesn't look that great for Lovren's future with all of his insane moments, although I really like him as well, not that great of a defender, but a very passionate nutcase that definitely has some clutch moments in him.

Then again we might not sign another CB, and Gomez could still play RB next season. If we get a new goalkeeper to calm everyone down, would you be happy with the current four CB's going into next season?
Gomez hasn't started a game as CB has he? So I don'the see how he can be considered ahead of Lovren and Klavan. Long term he will be, but iat the moment he is considered a RB or back up RB that changes the picture

That's true, but I did mean it in the future. I doubt Klopp would demote him from starter to 6th choice, for the sake of his development if nothing else.

It depends how far in future you are looking and when they may transition Gomez to CB. Klavan is 32 and only has 18 months on his contract which may come into it.

For anyone that pisses and moans about our team's lack of creativity when confronted with a low block team should watch the Chelsea vs Barcelona CL (20th Feb 2018) match.

Barca were basically made to hold their dicks while Chelsea sat deep and countered them when they could.

Only proven way to get a result against Barca is to play like that but you have to be good in possession to handle that relentless Barca press from the top. Chelsea should have won that game last night aswell. Barca just rely on Messi to get them out of jail every jail... and to be fair he does most of the time!

How would we have coped wih either of them as opponents.

I think we'd have had more otions going forward than either of them, but may have been susceptible to the odd counter.
Willian hitting the post twice and then scoring from shots outside the box just shows the importance of midfielders tracking back and covering and pressing the midfielder on the ball.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Surely you have to be at your best when not in possession

Our attack would scare Barca, they wouldn't be so keen to camp in opur half like they did with Chelsea. Man City tried that and conceded 3 goals in 3 counters.

I have a feeling with Coutinho going there we are destined to meet this season.

Nothing will make me happier than us beating them in the final and him having to watch from the stands. It's written in the gods
