keita looks like he leads by example, but is he vocal, can he bollock the players who drift?
very true about the lack of leadership from the side of the pitch too... its a big worry.
there didnt seem to be any urgency to change the shape and counter the change to sevilles tactics. too much ball watching.
no problems with klopp as regards our attacking but he does seem a bit one dimensional.
if teams wont allow us to play our A game then we dont have an alternative and just go to ****.
naive or just a one trick pony?removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Hope you’re right. Seems like we’ve been in transition for years. Liverpool fans should no longer be accused of focusing on past glories - nowadays we’re more likely to be talking about ‘next season’.Originally posted by BigChief View PostBut how far is that from changing very soon? Our best CB may be VVD and our best CM Keita, if not Goertzka. That makes a huge leap of difference.Another MASSIVE game

We need to upgrade our midfield & we know Coutinho & Can are off & id add Henderson to the list & Milner might just make the bench.
That leaves Wijnaldum, Keita & Lallana & possibly Woodburn & Oxlade C so we’d need 2-3 signings. Goretzka is no 1 priority imo to replace Henderson, Lemar to replace Coutinho & we’d be cooking with gas.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

We'd still need a holding midfielder. Some sort of hard-arse would be nice.Originally posted by SB View PostWe need to upgrade our midfield & we know Coutinho & Can are off & id add Henderson to the list & Milner might just make the bench.

Really? Strikes me as more of an attacking midfielder.Originally posted by SB View PostThat’s Goretzka for me. I know he can cover other positions but DM is where we’d play him hopefully
In any event, it's rather beside the point. I don't think the first problem is personnel. I think the first problem is that Klopp still needs to recognise and solve the defensive issues, because we simply capitulate far too often - we're too fragile a the back. I think it might be a defensive midfielder that is required and an alteration in the tactics, but obviously he knows better than me. The personnel is the second problem, unless of course he is just making do, but I don't believe he has to do that, because the money is there.Really?

I agree but I also think that Wiji’s energy levels breaking up play higher up the field are valuable assets but he shouldn’t be a starter in our strongest X1.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI don't think any of Milner, Can, Wini or Henderson are good enough to be starters for LFC in that midfield.
The lack of leadership or any sort of composure or organisation is absolutely ridiculous.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Dito.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAs far as I can tell (I don't watch Schalke), Goretzka is a multi-functional midfielder who can do most jobs in the middle of the park.
I did read that he’s best in the DM position but capable of playing them all. Hence I put 2 & 2 together & figured that we’d play him in place of Hendo who isn’t suited to that position at all. The commentator last night said “ Hazard just waltzed past Henderson like he wasn’t there” And that’s happening way too much imo.
