That is actually a good call.

Honestly, I don't think Klopp knows what to do with us at the moment. The personnel just isn't there and it is our own fault we are in this predicament.

Chances are City are going to blow us away.

We are only 4 points above Wolves. Closer to relegation than the Champions League.

Not sure what we can do either. Klopp has never hung around long enough to deal with ageing stars. I feel Slur Alec would have binned off Salah and Henderson by now, and had a whole new generation to go. But it is all very well saying Klopp needs to start being ruthless. Its hard when we have no natural replacements on the bench for Trent Salah or Henderson. We should have been padding out the squad with Tsimikas style backups if we did not already have a youth player ready to step up ( I mean we did have Neco Williams who was an option, but we sold him to pay for Salah's coke habit)...

I dread that City game, they have the potential to destroy us. They are dismantling teams so easily and are so prolific, whereas we are an absolute mess. What is so frustrating about it is we could all see the problems in the summer.

Some of the tactical decisions look like Hail Marys rather than properly thought out strategy but like you said when you don’t have the personnel you have to try stuff that you normally wouldn’t.

There’s no way Klopp deserves to be in this position.

I can't believe it has gone this bad.

We all thought the midfield needed strengthening before the season started but the decline in the likes of Virgil, Fabinho and Mo is staggering.

add Trent and Robbo to that list. It's so bizarre.

Yeah. Salah is the big one, supposedly one of the best players in the word, but even if we wanted to move him on in the summer, I’m not sure we can. Our prospects are now somewhat tied into his personal form.

TAA, Robertson, ALison, VVD, Fabinho, Salah. Mane

At our best those 7 would have graced any worlds best 11.

6 are still there, But bar alison all playing well below par.

Henderson is not the leader he was either. No one seems capable of picking this team up from its currrent malaise.

Of our five most reliable players Virgil, Thiago, Fabinho and Mo are all way below par. Only Ali is anywhere near his level and he’s saved us on so many occasions already.

The team has gotten old together and we haven’t done enough to replace the older heads. The time might be right to let the younger ones like konaté and Darwin to be regular starters.

It needed strengthening during Wijnaldum's last season. But we lost him and brought in Thiago... and left it at that. We broke our own back there.

You summed it up perfectly in the second post of the summer transfer window 2022 thread.

If Mane leaves we have already have Carvalho, Jota and Diaz to play left side.

Id say we need a right sided attacker as a backup to Mo, and a Bobby replacement.

Ox, Nat, Origi, Mane probably leaving.

When we won the champions league we signed Sepp Van den Berg…….. strengthen from a position of strength

You’re right mate. Gini put out a lot of fires for us and it’s sad that he felt undervalued. Whenever he was in the team it gave us a lot of defensive security in both offensive and defensive situations.

We made the midfield more expansive but less secure.
