Just pointing out that Trent and Gomez (almost feels younger because of the time lost to injuries) are not exactly seasoned pros. Neither have yet played 100 professional games.

I can understand letting Lovren go from a human and financial perspective, but when he's gone we have....

Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Trent and Robertson.

5 senior pros for 4 starting spots.

After that it's 17 year olds in defence when you're trying to get 100 points in the league?

    Wow.

Side note but it's a strange thing that starting from keeper, through defence, midfield and attack the normal age at which you breakthrough tends to get younger. A 17 year old attacker feels normal, but a 17 year old CB/keeper seems risky.

Gomez, Matip and Trent (to a lesser extent) have all been injury prone. I'm happy we are selling Lovren but I'd like to have got cover - someone like a Klavan a reliable old pro

Hoever really does look incredible but he's 17! Van Den Berg is also 17.

Of our five remaining "senior defenders" Trent is still only 20 and Joe Gomez is 22.

That would have to be the youngest defence in the Premier League history?

Going into effectively the whole season with just 5 senior defenders seems crazy to me. No matter how good you think the kids are it's one hell of a gamble particularly when Gomez and Matip have a record of injury problems
This is the worry for me. Also in midfield Keita, Lallana, Hendo, Ox all injury prone too. So risky

It all depends on if Virgil stays fit anyway. Without him we are ****ed no matter if we have Lovren or not.

But with him we will be fine. You could put Stephen Hawking next to VVD and we'd be one of the best defences in the league.

Also, I reckon klopp washed his hands of the ****wit after he injured himself v Wolves after a few minutes because he didn't warm up properly. 100k a week for that kind of ****. When we were going for the ****in league and CL. Professional my arse

Id sell him too. Good move. People think that he is fourth choice....but for all we know, klopp would prefer Fabinho back there too. And if we don't give young fellas like Whoever and that Ginger Dutch Rodney Trotter a go, then we won't be able to attract top young players.

Lovren isn't a good option for scarce football. He takes half a dozen games to find form. Not possible for a fella like that. I've not trusted him since I saw that **** show at Anfield v West Ham under Rodgers.

Kind of surprised Brendan didn't buy him to replace Maguire though

Before Norwich I seen Shaqiri working on one of the turnstiles.
