Obviously it’s not like szobo won’t be rotated at some point but I think he’ll play the big games and be first choice in general. Elliot can work hard but he’s not going to be at the same level of intensity.

Yes,, Elliotts pressing stats are very good.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostThat's something Elliot very much has. He has seemingly crazy levels of stamina and energy. The pace, size and physicality compared to Szobo not so much
I wonder how many more time Dom actually wins possession in comparison.
There should be times to bring him on though. He seems to have amazing vision and perhaps Slott sees him as plan B. Problem is... Plan A has yet to fail.
Big question as to how long Dom can keep going, but you cant blame Slott for any of his team selections so far, as they have been spot-on.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Statisically they are very close. Well Elliott's stats for the past 12 months vs those of Szobo for the same period.
Though Szobo's stats are spread over more minutes and cricially more stats whereas Elliott's have the advantage of coming on as a sub more so fresh legs vs tired legs situations are in his favour more often.
Both come very close to profiling like a Unicorn type player though. Biggest weakness in both their games seems to be their pass completion rates which are very average when looked at against all midfielders in the PL.
If both improved their pass completion rates by even as little as 5% they would straight away be a hell of a lot more effective. That 5% is the difference between being in the top 50% of passers in the league and the top 30% to 25%.
To put those passing stats in context, both our guys profile quite closely to someone like Pedri at Barca and the main difference between them and Pedri is that pass completion ability/rate.
Bernado Silva at City is another guy that profiles almost the same as Elliot almost across the board except, again, for that pass completion rate. Like Pedri he has that better rate that pushes him into the to 25% to top 30% range.
Defensively both are only ok rather than great statisically but Szobo's greater pace, size and physicality tips that in his favour for me, especially in the first half of games. Pedri, to bring him into it again, is far superior to both in defensive terms.
But think the stats, along with what the eyes tell you, show how close Elliot is to being something special. Szobo too for that matter.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Can't believe how easily Slot has just came in a taken everything in his stride. He is so calm and confident. He never seems to get flustered. He is just even tempered, all the time.
He won't be getting carried away with any of this either, you can tell. He looks pleased, but unmoved.
I love emotion in football, and Jurgen was the epitome of emotion. It lead to some wonderful times, and some incredible highs, the time of our lives. I do worry that, at times, when our backs are against the wall, and when we need that bit of magic, that the lack of emotion might leave us short.
On the other hand I think Jurgen's emotion led to chaos and chaos can be exciting, but it's exciting because it is so unpredictable. Games were all ebb and flow. Mostly that worked in our favour, but not always. When it didn't it could be disastrous.
I am awaiting for the inevitable moment of adversity to come. We go behind. We get a man sent off. We need a last minute winner/equaliser. How will we cope without Jurgen's emotion to get us over the line? If we can pass that test I think we're in for a hell of a season

It's still Slot's honeymoon period. But if this is what the sex will be like forever then I'm not complaining. Teams are bound to work him/us out eventually but I have a feeling Slot is just waiting for that so he can tweak a new counter tactic in when the time is right. One tit for another.

Yeah considering we are his first big club & playing in the best league in the world it looks like he was born for this. It’s like he expects this from his players whereas at times even Jurgen was surprised at the level our guys reached. I’m just hoping there’s no drop off when we need to rotate the squad as there’s been no goals from the bench so far.Originally posted by Pablo View PostCan't believe how easily Slot has just came in a taken everything in his stride. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker was quick to highlight his team's defensive prowess post-match at Old Trafford, saying: "You are right. I [still] love Jurgen Klopp.
"I will love him for the rest of my life, he knows that. But the determination, the quality of our manager [Arne Slot] and the way he works... He demands from the team," reports the Mirror.
Where will Liverpool finish this season? Have your say in the comments section below
Alisson is pleased with his new manager and the changes to Liverpool's defensive solidity
"Everyone is working their socks off. It's a third clean sheet in a row. It is not only that we are saving them at the back - the team is working so hard. This is the mentality that the manager wants us to have."
Defender Andy Robertson also gave his take, explaining how the squad seems more defensively sound than during Klopp's reign, he said: "We look a bit more secure defensively.
"We had a lot more control in our game today. It was 3-0 and it could have been more. You can't argue with three great goals scored. A clean sheet is massive. To come away to your big rivals like Manchester United and keep a clean sheet is massive.
"They always say clean sheets will win you things and that's always been the case when Manchester City have won the league and when we did. Three games without a goal conceded is really good and we want to keep that going.
"Alisson had too many shots to save last season. I think he's been happy with the people in front of him so far. It's about the whole unit working hard. The wingers put in an unbelievable shift and it helps the boys at the back."
Impressing the team
