Rotation for the EFL cup maybe ?
Be nice to start the season with 6 wins on the bounce, as you say all of them are winnable, but this is Liverpool so each club will raise their game for their "cup final" match, and we cannot afford to be complacent.

        Has been a brilliant start.

And although we were all crying out for a few more new players, in reality with a total new backroom team and a new manager, it is probably 100% right that it was tweaked. Too many changes and it could have gone tits up and never recovered.

For me, new 2 year extensions for virge and Mo would be brilliant news now. And a new deal for Trent too. Would give the team and fans a really big boost.

Looking at the fixtures, our next 4 league games are Forest h, Bournmouth h, Wolves a, Palace a.......we have b have Chelsea at home before going to Arsenal. Cup games against Milan a, Bologna h, West Ham h and Leipzig away will be interesting thrown in there too and how we use the squad will tell a load.

I think if we can keep Virgil and Konate partnership fit and healthy for most of the season then we can build something good.

At this stage, anything less than 21 points from our first 7 games would be disappointing! In the same time, city have Arsenal at home and Newcastle away, so you’d hope they might drop points, and we’d be top of the bunch.

I hope Slot rotates for even the champions league games and prioritizes the league. I feel like with the new champions league format, there’ll be more room for error, as we just need to finish in top 8.
          I don't tip

It is so, so important to finish 2nd at least because even if the PL make a token **** gesture of only deducting 5-10 points from City this season we need to be there to capitalise and not fecking Arsenal.
            One tit for another.

Well we want to at least keep them honest- if Arsenal win the title then fair play, but after us losing titles with 90+ points twice in the last few years, it would be pretty annoying if Arsenal won it with 80-85 points or so.

Tbh though, I’ll be surprised if anything is done to city.

I have Arsenal fans at work who are annoying as feck. No, they don't deserve it at all with sub 90 points. Not a crumb of it. As for City the PL will "look" to have done something when really it won't be much. But even with the little they do we need to be there to capitalise.

Palace after that as well which should be winnable -

Man Utd fans will be having an eerily similar conversation about prioritising the league and finishing top 8

Agree, for some reason, I think Arsenal might not be quite there yet, I tipped them for the title, but I have a feeling.

Arsenal, on the evidence of the past two season, are definitely a title winning level team, but if your feeling means you think that we might win the title this season, then I am with you on that one.

Think my feeling some weeks back was that we would come second this year, but upon watching the changes already in place after only a month or so of training. I reckon regardless of whether City drop off or get docked points, we will be not only in the hunt for the title but capable of finishing ahead of them.

Probably go to the Brighton manager, 2 wins and a draw in August. I know Pep got 3 wins, but Brighton's start is more impressive in my opinion. Slot only got the 2 wins to his name, as the United game was September.

I stopped tipping them on the day they drew with a below par City. I told my Arsenal colleagues that they would lose the league by exactly two points and I was accused of having PTSD as a Liverpool fan. Funny how it came true.

These mental blows (PTSD?) have an effect plus tiredness from such long campaigns and international summer tournaments. Third season syndrome is very real and it's a bitch.

I reckon 82-84 points will grab us second. Was I convinced Slot would get us there? Not at all. Am I convinced Slot can get us there now? Too darned right.
