I’d be quite happy with Come to Daddy football but we’re getting Avril 14th

Slots tactical stubbornness and blindness is a massive issue.
His obvious reluctance to play players better suited to what we need shows he will eventually get the boot.
How any manager can allow this constant multi pass bollocks that gets us nowhere near the opposition goal area is madness.
We have some forwards that thrive on quick passing yet they have been wasted as they try and hold the line to stay onside, think they are getting a pass into space and go to run only to see the ball go sideways again.

We look ****e, our play is ****e, our defence is coasting and not arsed, midfield is a shambles and our attack is toothless.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The number of times last night Ibou was in plenty of space with Joe in space on the touchline for an easy pass only for us to go left into congestion. You could see the frustration from the pair of them.

After last nights performance I am resigned to the fact that Slott does not have any solutions to solve this. He's a nice feller, but we havent played well all season with exception to the real madrid game.

How much does a manager rely upon his coaches? Van Bronckhurst couldnt even win the league in scotland, and gerard did that twice...

He will be replaced as sonn as they find a replacement. This had got the decline of Rodgers all over it.

I realised at the weekend I really wanted/want Slot to sort this mess out. To build a dynasty. I’m increasingly feeling he can’t do it.

I also think he is managing this massive ever changing scenario with Jota’s death. Nobody has the tools or experience of that in elite sport - he is learning as he goes. No rights no wrongs just attempts to contextualise.

A fresh face might come in and be able to shift the dynamic a bit. But Slot is going through it himself. As Doc posted these tiny 1% drop offs make all the difference.

I noted when Slot was asked about Robbo talking about Jota after the Scotland match he instantly deferred to acknowledging it was nothing compared to what Diogos immediate family are suffering. And whilst that’s right, it was insightful in terms of him not allowing himself to acknowledge that he too and the players may well also be suffering - I don’t think the right words or space exists for him to get his sentiment right first time on this in interview - the subject matter is so complex and personal and public at the same time.

                I do feel for him.

Competitive sport is utterly unforgiving and it will be a shame for Arne that he may well be a casualty of all of this. If he is I hope the club support him. He’s a young fella and has navigated all of the last 6 months with a fair bit of class and humility.

We will just never know what might have been.

The loss of Jota is and always will be completely unquantifiable.

                  Good post.

And I do feel that if we come out of this current cluster****, then Slot and the team will be better for it.

There could be a time when this season turns to a "plan-for-next-season" exercise. That is miles off at the moment but if we bomb out of the champions league, then it could become that. This would be very interesting - especially re. Virgil and Mo.

Slot is a fraud. Completely out of his depth. Zero charisma and poor man management.

Maybe. I always thought he had a touch of the Brenda's about him. The players are confused and he has no idea what he's doing. He needs to get out.

I’ve just reached the point where the poor performances need to stop. From the players to the manager, it’s all been well below the standard, and enough is enough. VVD genuinely stunned me last night, I didn’t think he had that level of amateurism in him. The off-ball setup and positioning were embarrassing. Some of these primadonnas clearly need someone with real authority to put them in line. If Slot can’t be that person, then fine, let’s move forward. I’m just exhausted by it all.

Sorry mate but that is ridiculouis. Regardless of this season he won us a legaue.

I don;t get all these fraud claims. His changes won us that league.

Our 4 best players last season. Mac, Salah, VVD and Grav to a lesser extent have fallen off a cliff.

If we get a new manager in and they are back on top form Its ovciously on Slot and not father time for VVD and Salah.

I concede though he has gone form can do no wrong, to can can do no riight.

                            Its utterlybizarre

I just read an article in the Athetic on Rotterdam's fans perspectives on Slot's struggles, and while the article wasn't super insightful, one of them made an interesting comment.

He said that Slot's worst year at Feyenoord came the year after he won the title and had the chance to spend some money, which didn't go as well as expected.

Different circumstances here of course, but that didn't fill me with confidence
