He needs to go, at so many times this season we've looked really poorly coached, most teams would have sacked him before Xmas. He doesn't seem to be a good man-manager either and has crazy blind spots.

There are reasons and excuses, but the club needs a fresh start, he'll never win the fans back, if we start the season with him, only to sack him in October, I'll be ****ing livid.

For Slot to succeed, he needs a squad full of elite players. I am not convinced he can turn very good players into elite ones in the way Klopp consistently did. Klopp had a rare mix of charisma and man management that allowed him to extract every ounce of potential from his players.

That said, is there another Klopp available right now? Probably not. Could Alonso get more out of this group? Possibly a little more, maybe even a lot more, but that would still carry risk.

My main concern with Slot is not failing to retain the title or even another Champions League exit to PSG, although qualifying for the Champions League is a non negotiable minimum. The bigger issue is that he just does not feel like the right fit. He does not seem to connect with the club, the city, or the fans. Living in Manchester while his family remains in Holland only adds to that sense of detachment. It feels like if a club like Madrid came calling, even if unlikely, he would leave immediately. There is a sense of fragmentation that seems to run through the club.

I also do not like his mentality. I do not want to hear a Liverpool manager talking up opponents like City or PSG before a ball is kicked, focusing on how difficult the game will be. That kind of messaging creates negativity and it spreads quickly. For me, he just does not align with the mentality and identity Liverpool should represent.

That is why I lean towards change, but only if the right replacement is truly available.

agree about Isak, we know he's outstanding, we know he's outstanding in the prem, he is proven when he has service but he's just had an absolute nightmare year & impossible to judge with such little game time. Much like many of Slots personnel or tactical decision, starting him when you are openly admitting before the game he can only play 45 mins is just bonkers.

said this the other day, he is blessed he's still in a job & unfortunately it has been to our detriment. He's done here.

it came across as weak and small time. No doubts that filters downward to the players too. Iraola available now aswell as Alonso, gives us more options. I really think some big money club are going to give Iraola the chance he deserves & I hope it is us. I see Newcastle are linked imo that's a sideways move.

I know there was criticism of Slot last season for sticking to the same players, and I have no idea where players were at with fitness etc. But Ngumoha and Salah probably had their best games of the season at the weekend, and were likely full of confidence, in a game where we come in 2 goals down and likely need a fast start that feels more the way to have gone to me than playing Isak from the start who was lacking in fitness, to me bringing Isak on when their players have had 60 or 70 mins in their legs even's the playing field a bit, and hopefully after a fast start we would have found ourselves 1-0 up so maybe he comes on in that situation with us looking for a 2nd goal and is kind of the ideal player in that situation.

I felt the change of Ngumoha for Gomez messed the system up a bit, obviously we wanted to bring Rio on, but when he came on we were on top, shifting Szoboslai to RB,losing him in midfield and putting on another attacker disrupted the balance of the side that was doing well at that point and then they got the goal that killed the tie. There is suggestion that Gomez wasn't injured but felt something, so there is some sympathy for the manager with the injuries and squad balanceetc but tactically something isn't right
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Absolutely. That said, I would not be hugely surprised if Slot went on to win multiple trophies with a truly elite squad. In fact, that may well be his natural level. His approach to management seems better suited to a club with vast resources and ready made world class players.

Every manager unless proven elite is a risk imo, still that’s not reason enough to hold off change.

Hi mate. Just out of curiosity, why do you feel Iraola is the man to move us forward? He plays some good stuff to be fair but I worry he doesn't have the clout to attract top top players.

Agree about the small club mentality. Said it after the Fulham game. He reminds of of Hodgson a bit in that sense.

And how can this team still look so disjointed. I know there have been injuries but the core group of players play pretty much every game. They don’t work together when they press, which is rare anyway. There are gaps defensively that teams can simply pass straight through and I don’t see any real combinations where players have built an understanding and link up well and we move the ball to create space and chances.

I’m not a Gakpo hater and think he’s a useful player but he just does the same thing this season and I don’t remember him being like that before, even last season under Slot. Is he being told to play like this and if not why doesn’t someone make him change his game. What’s going on.

I always look at facts. We have lost 17 times this season.

I dont see any coherent system of play.

Players that are usually reliable are making mistakes (Konate, VVD, Macca etc)

We were out run last night again

poor body language across the squad

5th in what is a very poor league this year. The winner could get less than 85 points...

Clear investment in the squad has only created more complexity.

I cant see how Arne's position can be maintained. He is a nice genuine good guy, but I think due to so much change this year he has been unable to stamp his authority and create an identity for Liverpool
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I want Luis Enrique or Vincent Kompany. Actually, I think I'd prefer Kompany.

I don't think there is any chance of Kompany coming to us if Pep is leaving City. Is Luis Enrique realistically available? His current contract runs to the end of next season. He has built one of the best-performing CL sides at PSG. Why would he cleave that to come to us?
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Xabi, Iraola, Hoeness are probably the realistic contenders. Slot will get credit for the title and some leeway having been dealt a really horrible hand, but we need a fresh start, starting with the manager. We need someone who will be at least neutral with the fans, I don't trust Slot for this massive job ahead, and I know I'm not the only one.

They have to say that whilst there is much to play for.

They can’t exactly come out and say ‘the bald fraud has been found out, don’t tell anyone, but we are going to give him the bullet the moment the season ends’.

I mean, there’s obvs a chance it’s true but this rings of the end of the Roger’s era when everyone can see that the things that need fixing have grown way outside of the managers ability to fix them. He is careering from one tactic and formation to another.

We are now taking on water to a point where it’s impossible to see us staying afloat. At least with this captain (#metaphor!)
