I'll stick with bull. He got called ****. He was no better than Henderson for his first 18 months. A lot of the criticism was aimed at Rafa really. It wasn't as severe as the rabid hostility and name calling directed at downing.Last edited by Kenneth; 03-12-12, 05:03 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

He did get a hell of a lot of abuse, probably even from me tbh. But he did struggle to adapt to this league, not that its an excuse to abuse him!
Fair play to the lad for working hard and turning it on its head, because I remember times when he looked like a lost soul in the team, perhaps daunted in the company of Alonso, Mascher and Gerrard.
All said and done, the abuse he got was nowhere as bad as Downing, who at his age is done and dusted here."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I remember having many arguments at the match with morons who used to boo him. From day 1 i've always thought he would make it eventually.
I've never felt so ashamed to be a Liverpool fan when he was subbed on, i think to replace Alonso (not sure) and huge echo's of Boo's came from everywhere.
The bloke next to me started, and i told him one day he would live to regret that.
In fact I remember some of the abuse he got on here after the Tottenham game on the first day of the season. I think we lost 2-0 or 2-1.
He went away that summer, beefed up and got subbed on again in one of the first few games of the following season, which i think may have been wigan? Again to boo's. He'd cut his hair, and the next thing I remember is him absolutely smashing someone in a tackle sending the lad flying.
Love the lad's attitude, it could have been so easy to just pack in and go elsewhere. But it shows if you stick at it, you can do it eventually.

He got abuse from the majority including most of the people on here, not one of them took into account his age, his credentials, his team mates at the time, the fact he was away from home for the first time,Originally posted by Redspin View PostIn fairness he only got such abuse from the ****ing moronic brain-dead element. It was obvious he was a very clever footballer from day one
Lucas ... hes **** .. he only passes side ways .
God forbid Jonjo puts in a couple of Dodgy Shifts watch the You'll Never Walk Alone crowd turn on him, name calling, demanding he gets sold etc etcAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

We need a thread where people can declare whether they backed or barracked him. Maybe a poll too so people can add their names the roll of honour or list of shame as appropriate..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

It's a must. Plus a separate rule just for Nicey so he can have multiple votes just to cover all angles.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostWe need a thread where people can declare whether they backed or barracked him.
