he also said that he might look again at the end of the year. this might mean lucas knows he is likely to be sidelined or moved on, so he might decide to push for the move sooner.

I'm happy that he's staying but I'd sell if we were offered £14m to be fair, and blood Can in that position. Lucas is just a little too injury prone to rely on him over a whole season

Excellent, what a good team we're already looking second half of the season. At least the comments from Rodgers in the last few weeks are beginning to make sense, i.e. he doesn't see Gerrard as a 'defensive' mid for a start. I don't mind Stevie getting minutes further up front, behind Sturridge.

I still wouldn't sell him in the summer though to be honest......for me, he is a great player to have in the squad....

Who would you buy as a DM......I think mascherano would be ideal but it's never gonna happen.... Schneiderlin would be a good move too but again I think he will end up at arsenal or united......

I was all for Lucas going last summer to be honest but there is no way I'd want to see him leaving now far too important at the moment and even if we bring in a top class player for that position he's still going to be needed in the squad imo.

Crazy to think that we are looking to get rid imo. He has been arguably our best player since he has come back in the team. We look so much more solid and balanced. He Does a great job with no fuss and gives us a great platform to build from and he really does cover a lot of ground.

When it comes to mopping up at the back he's the best equipped in our team. He's also tidy in possession so fits in well with our game. He's nowhere near good enough to be a starter in a side fighting for top honours. But I'm sure we could throw that argument at most in our squad.

I know he's had the bad injury etc etc, but it's not like he's an oul lad on his last legs that we should be looking to offload.
Still only 28, and coming back into the form that was turning an awful of opinions on their head outside of the club's fanbase.
