Taking into account that Sterling behind the SAS was so effective. Taking into account the diamond formation was what took us so close & taking into account Gerrard was incapable of playing in any other role than behind the strikers or the DM position due to energy levels.

Also take away all Gerrard's goals & all his assists. And take away the fact his balls over the top with Sturridge & Sterling stretching the play kept teams more open.

Lucas has also adapted his game to suit Rodgers' style of play. Instead of looking to slow the game and play a sideways/backwards pass, Lucas is playing with his head up and looking to get the ball forward quickly. On times, he's also breaking further forward.

Players should be judged on how they are currently playing - and Lucas is currently one of our better players. It would be madness to sell him now.

Definitely mate January window is notoriously difficult. If we sell in the summer we ll have more money to spend, more options to spend it on and sure it will mean we ll keep a player who is bang on form at the moment and seems vital to our team. Might increase his price tag too although I have no idea his contract details.

And you've still not given any kind of justification for why gerrard's contribution being the reason we kicked on LAST SEASON should not be up for debate.
