A case could easily be made that we'd have won the league last year with Lucas a regular.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostBrendan didn't look that silly last season when Lucas was out the team. In fact, he looked like a genius as he took a decent side to the brink of its first title in nearly 25 years.
But despite him pushing out the captain and making him want to up sticks to the USA to instead play Lucas, I'm sure people will still moan that Rodgers runs around to the beat of Stevie's drum because he's renting a house of him. Mugs.Glass Half Full

Only now are your concerns raised?Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIf this is the case you would have to worry about what Rodgers knows about the defensive side of the game.

I disagree. As it wasn't until Gerrard went into the DM position that we really kicked on.Originally posted by fidget View PostA case could easily be made that we'd have won the league last year with Lucas a regular.
However, my point was that Rodgers has effectively changed tact and made Lucas first choice over Gerrard. That this was effectively one of the reasons Gerrard was going. And that people were silly to suggest favouritism based on a rental agreement.Forwards.......

That rental agreement maybe (probably not) didn't lead to favouritsm but IMO it's very unprofessionla, muddies the water and invites the allegations of favouritsm.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI disagree. As it wasn't until Gerrard went into the DM position that we really kicked on.

Yep, that was hilariously stupid at the time and looks even more stupid now given confirmation of Rodgers and Gerrard's chat about him not playing as much since. ****ing idiots trying to make some sort of conspiracy theory out of that. Laughable.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostAnd that people were silly to suggest favouritism based on a rental agreement.

I didn't then and still don't see the logic behind it. It questions the integrity of both Brendan Rodgers and Club legend Steven Gerrard.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostThat rental agreement maybe (probably not) didn't lead to favouritsm but IMO it's very unprofessionla, muddies the water and invites the allegations of favouritsm.
I've always seen people use this throw away comment of invites allegations, but I've never actually seen anyone stupid enough to make one. So that to me suggests it isn't really a problem.Forwards.......

Meanwhile, the Reds have yet to receive a bid from Inter Milan for midfielder Lucas Leiva.
The Brazil international has been linked with a £7million move to the San Siro but Liverpool are reluctant to sell him.
There is certainly no chance of Lucas, who has been ever present during the club's recent seven-game unbeaten run, being allowed to leave on loan.
Great price for Assaidi too, if Borini gets the hint we could get someone good in.

You're entitled to disagree but if that's your reason you're blinkered to say the least.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI disagree. As it wasn't until Gerrard went into the DM position that we really kicked on.

And Lucas has only got a look in because Gerrard has offered little to nothing all season despite the entire side being shuffled around in an attempt to accommodate him.Glass Half Full
