Regardless of what's been said of Lucas, we are coming into a period of games where the improved form of this team is going to come into question.

If we come out of that period with our heads held high, I'll happily go onto each player thread who I've given some stick and insert praise where necessary.

As it stands I think we need to improve upon Lucas. Should he do well ill be delighted to be called an idiot by many who will rush to do so and accept I was wrong to consider that.

Fair enough, but once again our priorities isn't and shouldn't be about improving upon that DM position in this window, there are OTHER pressing positions that need priority first and foremost... if this is about improvement upon, heck you could chuck in half/whole of the first team and replace them with barca/bayern/real players... Lucas is our mainstayer and you can tell that with his attitude, fortitude,determination and professionalism off and on the pitch..who these days that WILL and CAN be improved upon with the RIGHT price...?

He's proved a lot of us wrong (including the manager ). Even if (hopefully) we sign a top class central midfielder, in the summer, we should keep Lucas and make him vice captain. We need experience to help 'the kids' develop. You don't win anything with kids

Has to be a different player as IMO he's less mobile. But my word, having Henderson's legs alongside him makes it less of an issue.

Intelligent today, and you know what...... He got booked today and it still didn't really take that edge away. First time in a long time I've seen that.
