Lucas' injury can't be THAT bad considering he tried to get back into the game. I haven't had ACL reconstruction like u have Banditos but surely an injury that bad would leave u unable to walk, let alone hobble around the pitch like Lucas did for a minute or so...Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Gascoigne did his PCL in the cup final and tried to carry on. And, like Lucas, failed.
We'll soon know..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Jesus just looking at that Lucas injury again, its tricky to see what happened, it looked like a straight forward class of knees, but it drew blood, now was that from the class or something breaking inside and percing the skin.
Also if that many Liverpool Fans booed another teams player coming off on a stretcher I would find another club to support, sweet Jesus what a shower of cuntsAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Surely we should give the players here the chance to prove themselves in the month before the transfer window opens? I doubt that without evidence Dalglish and Commoli would bank on them.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostSeriously hope Dalglish and Commoli don't see Shelvey as the solution to Lucas' absence for the rest of the season. Yes he's been good at Blackpool in the Championship, completely different level to the PL.
We need to buy a DM in January. Heard suggestions for Lassana Diarra, good option IMO and he probably wouldn't cost more than 10m.
I said when we sold Meireles that we were at least one midfield option short in the squad. However, I'm not sure how easy it will be to get the right option in in January, or whether a replacement for Lucas is what is needed long term.
Not a massive fan of Diarra - he doesn't seem to have the positional discipline needed to be a really first rate DM and he's not massively creative. On the other hand his mobility might be an asset alongside Adam."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think it's the interceptions and not over shooting after tackles that are the real difference between Lucas and the other options we have. Both Adam and Henderson fly into tackles and tend to end up 5 yards past the original clash when they lose out, Lucas is always there for the second tackle. In many ways Spearing often appears worse but then he's played fewer games I have seen.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostNot sure how much I'd like Henderson to do it, he has a great engine and is good at pressing but his tackling is poor. If I'm honest there is nobody else in the squad I particularly trust in that role. Spearing is probably our best bet, he has a good mix of qualities for it and for me it's really a question of whether he can prove he understands what's required to play the role well.
Personally I think Henderson is closer to what we need there than the other options. He seems nimble and could develop to intercept and nick the ball of players toes like Lucas."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Disgraceful, but not entirely surprising considering it's chelsea.
I've not watched it since but the blood looked like a graze and not a cut. It didn't look like from inside out and I thought it wasn't his blood at all but smeared from something else.
Let's hope he's got a nasty bruise but remember that he's the sort of player who will fight on. Carra's broken leg springs to mind, what a ****ing Trojan he was in that game

Eh...*pulls hand to mouth in anticipation* Alonso back in the middle!? Our Middle!?
Is this just a fantasy imagined for purpose, or has there been a solid rumour about him returning ?

Pretty sure Kenny will know if they are good enough already. If they are good enough to replace Gerrard and Lucas, surely they wouldn't be spending so much time on the bench or loaned out to a championship club.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Haha I said yesterday "how about a cheeky loan bid for Alonso", knowing full well it would never happen.Originally posted by Vermilion View Post

It seems to have got Norbs somewhat over excited though.

How is 6 weeks the best case scenario if the club know nothing ? Could be severe bruising, the patella, ACL.
Looked to me like it broke the skin with immediate bruising, but that was on camera for only a second or two
i worded that really badly. Club doctor reckons theres some sort of internal damage, best case 6 weeks, worst case 6 months, depending what it is, but wont know for sure til scan
I think Shelveys call up may be because Gerrard might be out for a while longer, not because of Lucas

The thing with an ACL is that it has no nerves or blood supply (hence why it has to be reconstructed). When you tear it, it's quite painful initially (particularly if you mash some cartilage), but once that pain dissipates, it doesn't really feel like you've got an injury at all. I was 19 when I did my knee the first time and 5 minutes after doing it I was jogging up and down the touchline thinking I was right to come back on. You can still run around without an ACL, but the knee joint will be really unstable and you'll start getting cartilage damage quickly.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostLucas' injury can't be THAT bad considering he tried to get back into the game.
