I really like Maxi and see no need to sell him regardless of his wages. Unlike joe cole, Maxi does the job when called upon and is a very useful squaddie IMO.

There are loads I would sell if a decent offer came in, but I'd be happy enough to keep N'gog, Maxi, Cole, Skrtel etc to pad out the squad.

He's played every minute of every league game for us this season and he's been a virtual ever present in the Liverpool defence since he joined over 3 yrs ago.

He wouldn't play nearly as much if it wasn't for Agger's and Carra's injuries.

Still solid player I'd keep him in the squad.

I don't agree, Agger is integral to the team, I feel we play better when he is involved. I would say he's our best defender. Any time he is fit he should be involved.

In my opinion Skrtel will be here for a long time as he is a good solid centre back. We definitely need another Agger type centre back though. Then Skrtel or Carra can be paired with the other centre back or Agger (when fit).

IMO Skrtel would be only a squaddie if Carra/Agger were fit but sure Agger is made of biscuits. But Skrtel has done better in latter part of the season IMO. Good squad played to have for next season. Our bench come August is going to look a hell of a lot more dependable than it has in such a long time.

Absolutely.

That said, if we don't bring a top notch CB this summer, Skrtel could be 2nd choice CB (fit Agger will always be number # 1 pick) at the expense of Carra as we'll need to start phasing him out sooner rather than later.

A player that is an injury prone as Agger simply can't be an integral part of the team.
It's just a bonus if he's fit, he's not someone we can count on or build a team around, that's for sure.

I don't think we necessarily need another Agger type player. A good solid, no nonsense type would do as long as he's up to the job. The problem is, quality centre backs are hard to come by these days.
