Said it many times - as have others - but Maxi is clearly the sort of player who will thrive in a good footballing, attacking side and he's proving it now. Intelligent movement, great touch and technique with good ball retention...especially in tight spaces. Great player to have around and superb work from Rafa getting him on a free.

When he joined his goals to game ratio was better than any of our midfielders including Kuyt (while here) and Gerrard who have both spent a couple of seasons playing up front. Finally we're getting to see evidence of this although it was only a matter of time as his movement has always been excellent. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Equal with Torres too, that right?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostMaxi Rodriguez has scored more Premier League goals this season than all of Spurs' strikers combined

How many hat-tricks did Torres get for us?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Spot on Real Pablo, spot onOriginally posted by Pablo1981 View PostI think he needs a certain style of football to get the best out of him. Play some quick one touch pass and move football and he comes alive. Ask him to stay out on the touchline and play long ball football and he's complely useless.
A good manager playing attacking football would get the best out of him.

The 3 of them seem to get on like a house on fire.
Real feel-good vibe about the place at the moment, and these three seem to really work well together (with Kuyt too, of course).

Mattshark always always always backed Maxi up, and often referring to his goal-getting ability. Maxi's now proving Matt (and me
) right. Class act. As i've said before, if he was a couple of years younger and had pace, he'd be a £20m player. Oozes class, the lad and when he's playing in a side that's playing football the way it should be played, his quality shines through.

Is correct. Both he and Lucas (and also Meireles since he recently joined us) thrive on the classic short passing, ball-retention game that many people on here don't seem to appreciate. It never surprises me, but it disappoints me, when the knee-jerk merchants used to slag off these excellent players. Kuyt - possibly only Lucas ahead of him as player of the season - also used to be a prime target of the same morons. Never under-estimate the stupidity of large sections of out supportersOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostSaid it many times - as have others - but Maxi is clearly the sort of player who will thrive in a good footballing, attacking side and he's proving it now. Agree about the whole Hispanic thing Rudo- loved that flair we had from them under Rafa after Houllier & was worried we'd lose that after his sacking. Hopefully we'll add 1 or 2 others in the summer too. Rudolpho will hopefully attract the younger players too.3rd place. Worst champions ever.
