    He took a few.

And no one is saying Torres should put himself forward as their first choice penalty taker or anything to be fair, just ya know not to completely **** out when none of the regular choices are on the pitch and let some hapless defender take it instead!

A lot of Chelsea fans were wondering the same after the game. I'd be a bit miffed if Martin Skrtel stepped up when we had Andy Carroll on the pitch to be honest.

Anyway, glad to see he's flopping horrendously again after even some Liverpool supporters were having orgasms over him being "back".

      Exactly this.

When your top three or four set piece / penalty takers are missing then it's only natural to have the £50m striker step up and have a go. Not a crazy centreback.

In fairness, David Luiz isnt *really* a defender, is he?

I don't want him back as he's not the player he was and never really will be due to the loss of pace, but I don't have any bitterness towards him anymore and have hugely fond memories of his spell with us. He was ****ing amazing and I'm not gonna let the way it ended spoil that for me.

Funny how everyone's having a go at him over this non-issue but no-one's saying **** about Anelka who was also on the pitch at the time.

Slagging off anelka isnt anywhere near as much fun

Joking aside, i still think Torres is a cunt. He shouldnt have come out with all the "Liverpool is my english club like Atletico is my Spanish club" bull**** and the stuff he said about being committed to the cause, some 2 weeks before handing in a transfer request.

Anelka missed a penalty just last week.

Haha no need to get upset about it!

So he wasnt likely to take another one given its not the first he's missed, pretty simple I'd have thought. At least he had the bottle to try mind which is the issue.

I'm not upset ....I was genuinely asking so what? I don't see what difference it makes.

And how come it's okay for Anelka to stand aside due to his **** record from the spot, but it's not okay for Torres to do the same? Like I said it's clearly just people desperate to have a pop.

No, and to use a liverpool analogy, it would be agger rather than skrtel.

Not 100% sure who i'd be more confident of scoring out of Carroll and Agger, form/confidence would play a part in that decision.

Anelka's penalties, that i've seen, have been utter tripe

Also I have no issue re: transfer requests in the right circumstances. Where it allows the selling club to keep more money/save face it can be an honourable thing to do.
