If we were playing in a 'backs against the walls' game, I'd start him, otherwise he should be a non-starter, imo.

It's weird he's permanently on the deck, it's difficult to watch him lumber and stumble about. I really did think he was better than this but he is justifying the negative opinions people shared before he joined us.Comment

I nearly threw up a mothball when we were linked to him before the end of last season as some sort of solution to our midfield problems.
When I see his name on the team sheet, it gives me absolutely no excitement at all...a bit like his football.
Saying that, if we were playing Barca away, I would 100% start him for his industry.
I said it at the start of the season and was told I was wrong so I think I'm within my right to repeat myself and say our midfield is not good enough and I'm not surprised we're being linked with midfielders in Jan (even though certain posters don't think we need to strengthen there
)

I've been really surprised by his average performances, yesterday he looked proper leggy. I wonder if Klopp's running heavy training sessions and that's impacting on him?!
I thought he'd be much better for us.

I thought he'd be much better for us. He was a lot better for City - why else would City fans love him. It's strange. He's definitely much better than he's showing. Maybe the captaincy is weighing heavily on his shoulders. These things can make a difference.
