fair do's mate, strange how we see things differently, not you and me but fans as a collective. I have been impressed in the first two games and not tonight. His head dropped tonight and he looked lacking in confidence unless that's his usual 'match face'. He put an effort in and had some nice movement but generally didn't shine as much as I expected.

Downing with that ****ing **** effort where he chipped it into the keepers hands really annoyed me.

I thought he has done really well since he came, you have to remember he is only 21 ffs. I think getting him at such an early age we can mould him into a truly exceptional talent, he has the raw skills for sure.

IMO he worked hard tonight and does have a good engine. But he is lacking confidence at the moment, doesn't really offer us much at the moment, and IMO there are a few ahead of him in the peccking for the first team.

Seems a bit timid and lets the head drop very easy, touch, decision making and end product hasn't been there. Early days lets hope he improves and can progress under Kenny.

After seeing some of the nominations in the MOTM thread, and the latest posts in this thread I think I may have watched a different game; I thought Henderson was one of the least effective players tonight. He got into space a few times down the right and put in some crosses, but apart from that I thought he was average to poor, and really deteriorated after the booking. In my opinion he's really lacking confidence, always opting for the easy route.

I think we have too many trying to yell at one another and putting hands on hips; I think Henderson suffers from not being comfortable playing the role of the man in charge of the attack. No one is the engine of the team in the midfield, except Downing when he comes on, and then I wish he'd stay on the touchline and play the winger's role instead of drifting in the free role. Still, Henderson is an okay player, but I'd take Kuyt/Meireles/Aquilani/Maxi above him any day as a player.

Still, he's young and has potential. Just wish we had someone going box to box from the midfield...

I think we're going to have to accept that Henderson and Carroll are going to take a while to develop into the players they were bought to be.

thought he was billy big bollocks. I can see him annoying me a lot tbh, if he stayed out wide he'd be ****ing effective, but I'm not sure if its under instruction or the belief that he's the english silva but he comes inside so often. stay out wide and wait 10 minutes to get the ball if necessary, would give us more shape. ah well, we'll see.

I don't think anyone would say that he had an exceptional game but today imo he did more and left better impression than in the first 2 games.

He made some nice runs along the byline, which I didn't see from him thus far, his touch and move to shake off the defender before the dive in the box was superb and he perfectly timed, released and passed to Suarez for our second goal.

Imo he's slowly getting better with each game but he's far from finished product and we should be little more patient and give him time to properly bed in and gel with other new boys.

                            Yep, that was tremendous.

I'm not writing him off by any means; I just don't think he has done particularly well since his signing. I thought tonight would have been a good opportunity against lower league opposition to make a bigger impact than so far in the League. I won't really come to a firm judgement about his overall chances of making it here until the end of next season.

I can see a similar situation developing as that of when Lucas signed. Highly-rated youngster with the raw talent but still hadn't found his proper position. The fans will probably be split over Henderson for a while but eventually once he get's that consistency to his game he will become a favourite.

I was puzzled when we signed him but I have seen him play at Sunderland over the course of last 2 years and I know he's much better player than what he exhibited in LFC shirt so far.

He is still finding his game and it is blatantly obvious that he lacks confidence.

Today's performance wasn't mesmerizing by any stretch but I thought on moments he like looked very decent.

                                Time will tell.
