He's a much better in the middle. He gets in good positions in attacking play. He's not consistent in his execution yet, but I think he'll get there. Pity one of the chances didn't go it, he'd be immune from criticism for a few months and allowed the time to settle properly.

Yesterday proved we can play with two ball playing midfielders at home on occasion. We don't need a DM at home against teams who defend first like united did yesterday. Lucas is good at what he does, but if he's not needed then we're better off with Gerrard, Adam or or Henderson in there depending on who'se up front.

I'd never call that booing, it was just a big groan. But no it wasn't great to hear.

Disagree. Lucas is a better player than both and should always start ahead of of them. People used to say the same about Mascherano but the stats proved that we were a much better team with him in the side than without.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And entitled you are to do so. I think in a horses for courses scenario we'd be better without a DM against certain oppositions at home. I don't think Lucas is as effective as the others playing positively. He craps himself within about 15 yards of the opposition box. He's has got better at playing it forward from his DM role though.

            Good Yoda impression.

Personally I'd have gone for "And so entitled to do you are" but both work.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

You're right, it was a loud groan. The pass wasn't a square ball either, it was played 40yds back in to our own half but in doing so we retained the ball and built from it

Liverpool FC's Jordan Henderson eyes finishing touch

JORDAN HENDERSON insists he’s happy to play anywhere for Liverpool as the midfielder revealed he’s staying late after training to perfect his finishing.

The England Under-21s international, who is hoping to earn a recall against Norwich City at Anfield tomorrow, has appeared on the right and in a central role since he joined the Reds from Sunderland for £16million this summer.

Henderson has so far scored once in eight Liverpool appearances and wants to improve that strikerate.

“I am not really fussed about where I play, I just want to play football and wherever I’m put I’ll play but obviously I like to play in the middle,” he said.

“I like to stay after training and do some finishing and other things that I think I need to work on.

“Finishing and goalscoring is a big part of football so I’ve been trying to work on that for quite a lot of months now. Even when I was at Sunderland I was doing that.

“I’ve scored a couple this season and I would like a lot more.

“I can’t get too focused on that, I need to concentrate on other parts of my game that I need to improve on, but goalscoring and getting in certain positions is definitely one thing I need to get better at.

“I want to become a much better player, improve every day, keep working hard and learn from the players around me, and hopefully become a very successful player for Liverpool and also my country.

“I’m very appreciative of where I am today, but I still want more, I still want to go forward. There are a lot more things I want to achieve. I don’t get carried away with it but also I want to strive for more and keep that hunger going.”

Henderson admits he would love to be part of Stuart Pearce’s Great Britain squad for next summer’s Olympics. However, he’s currently focused on establishing himself with the Reds.

“You never know, and if I’m picked I’d love to go, but I can’t be looking that far ahead at the moment,” he said.

“I need to concentrate on my football, keep improving and whatever happens happens.

“It would be huge to do it in your own country and it’d be a big honour for anyone who goes to that tournament. I’m sure a lot of people will want to go.”

He's going to be a quality player. I think he'll always be plagued with people who don't understand the game chatting about him passing sideways though, unless he adds enough goals on top of his natural game to shut them up.

He has all the attributes to be a top, top player and now that he's practicising extra hard (ala Beckham) I can't wait to see him arrive.

That doesn't stop him being Spongebob Squarepass in the meantime. Its a term of endearment.

BUMP! So people's thoughts of Jordan Henderson at LFC?

I got a bit of stick when i started this thread, but sure i'm still trying to find out what exactly Henderson does? Anyone! because it genuinely baffles me ??

Was having a chat today and I asked a couple of fellow reds what exactly Henderson does for LFC? The answer one of them gave me was.... not much! I just can't see it with this lad, i know it's early and he's young but it's rare you come across a player that can just disappear in a game on such a regular basis, for me he is a passenger and is incredibly timid!! He has beautifully sculpted hair, runs around alot & harries (from about 5-10 yards away) but never actually makes a tackle or does anything else!?

IMO he does have certain abilities as a footballer, some of which have been vastly exaggerated by people, which does happens with new signings. But there is no question for me, that he certainly is not ready for first team football at LFC, or if he ever will be & Kenny has used him far too often, especially from the start. I've said previously that IMO i felt he is more of an impact player off the bench & maybe put his energy and engine to good use at the latter parts of games?

He may be young, still learning & have potential as people will say, but there comes a point when playing him week in,week out is not benefitting LFC at this current time, same goes for Downing. LFC are at a crucial juncture, thinks it's go hard or go home.

Either we sort **** out, get some consistency on the pitch and push for 4th spot, which by some miracle is still up for grabs!! Or we look forward to either playing on thursday nights in the Europa League or no European Football at all!! My point being, we can ill afford players starting in our first eleven on a regular basis to be hiding in games or being passengers.
