My worry is what happens when Fabinho starts to look knackered. Right now the step down from Fab being out (means a Williams/Philips pairing at the centre of the back line) is a lot greater than the one from Henderson being out ( We still have Thiago/Milner/Ox/Jones and maybe Keita to add cover and depth in the centre).

Having him as the deepest midfielder I also think upsets the balance of the team. As good as he has been playing you don’t want him as the creative fulcrum of the team......he is at his best as one if the 8s getting up and down the field and making things happen with his drive and energy.

In games vs the bottom sides we have struggled and I think that has coincided with Fab not being at the base and having to rely on Hendo for creativity. He had 174 touches vs West Brom and they stood off him but it’s not his best skill to dictate play.

I think last season was the best of his career and he is an amazing leader on and off the pitch but I prefer him not to be the creative hub of the side. I’d also wish he’d stop “that” slung cross he does what seems like 10 times a game
