He’s been a copy and paste guy for ages and now it seems like he’s been fed info. Once you think you’re an ITK you’ll reap what you sow! LFC Twitter has done absolute nut jobs and Hendo is as divisive a topic as you can getOriginally posted by RedReet View Post

There’s clearly something afoot. But.
Y’know what I’ll tap out of this one. Life is too short.

Or maybe your just filling in the blanks like the vast majority of people who make snap judgements based on internet gossipOriginally posted by Harv View PostYeah looks like all this is being driven from his side. Much like when he wanted a new contract.
Don't think Mr Squeeky Clean is quite as squeaky clean as people think. He's still a narcissistic greedy prick like the vast majority of other footballers.

Pay him half a million a week and pay the fee of 20m to us. Simples. but as harv said - likely just a greedy wee prick (albeit pretty ripped).

A couple of thoughts on this:Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHenderson’s camp are briefing the media non stop - this is airing out dirty laundry in public, not a good look

1) Did we give permission for them to speak to Henderson? Because this looks to have tapping up written all over
2) Why would we give permission to speak to a player under contract if they can't afford a fee
3) Why are they offering him stupid money in wages? I like Henderson and he has done alot for us but with all due respect he's not the type of player you envisage getting that type of money
4) If they really are offering £700k an he really wants to go there, surely they agree to reduce the wages a little to pay the fee to make it happen, if not they shouldn't have offered such stupid money in the first place.
5) It feels like Henderson is using his credit that he has to look after himself and expect the club to do him a favour, IMO I would be more inclined to agree to this if his main motivation was taking a step down to continue playing rather than to line his pockets.
6) There is something very strange about this whole situation

He played in a mid-season World Cup, was injured during the season and missed games directly before international breaks yet was miraculously available for England (Forest away springs directly to mind). Even very recently he played for England during this close season, yet we have to pay for the privilege of "managing his minutes" - it's a total red herring. Let Stevie and the Saudis "manage his minutes".Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe issue with those players regressing was partly due to the amount of football they had played because of the lack of availability of others. Managing their minutes which was clearly the plan with Henderson would IMO allow you to get more from him when he does play, same applies to Fabinho, he had a poor season last year but was looking better towards the end, so I suspect he isn't as finished as some would like to suggest.
I terms of what we have done so far we have replaced 3 squad midfielders (Ox, Keita and Milner) with a couple or younger fresher and likely starters in the side, we have lost Milner's experience, but with Henderson Thiago and Fabinho around that isn't such a problem. Let a couple more of the experienced guys go and we are replacing that experience with a 24, 22 year old and possibly a 19 yo (Lavia) it's a big change all in one go. You can say the guys we have brought in are experienced for their age, but I still think not having that experience in the dressing room is a big loss.

The suggestion that this is a transition season really ****s me off, I'm not disputing that it is but this squad management has really been ****ed up by the club, 20-21 was ****ed because of our failure to sign a CB, last year because of a failure to sign a CM or sort the midfield out, now this season because we have left ourselves too much to do at once. that's 3 out of the last 6 seasons, the other 3 we have won stuff. We are wasting the time we have with the likes of Klopp, VVD, Salah, Alisson.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostI don’t disagree with that, and I’d prefer to keep Fabinho so we have 2 DMs.
But there’s a big argument for moving Fab/Hendo’s wages off the books and getting fees for them while we can, if it assists the rebuild. We’re not going to renew them so they’ll be gone in the next season or 2 anyway.
Let the new guys gel and get a season of experience together. It’s a transition season anyway because of the way we’ve gone about things.
I would have hoped that keeping the experienced heads around could have allowed us to level out any bumps in the road somewhat from bringing in so many new players and allowed us to mount a title challenge rather than what may end up being a battle for top 4 again.
