You know my thoughts - I thought he was poor on the ball and kept fouling Mbappe. I thought Rice was his usual bland self but Bellingham was v good. Rabiot is also v average

It was Saka that rattled the French, and to a lesser extent Foden. Mount also made an impact with his forward runs. Back and side ways passing did nothing to them.

I think thats part of the problem though. If we are to remain in the club elite we need a higher standard in our first 11 than the average England midfielder. I am just glad its over and he can rest for a week or two before our next game. Our pressing need to be a much higher intensity the Englands will ever be.

Fair and that pass could have caused big problems. He is the water carrier in the team and does it well. He empties the tanks for 80 mins and was a big part of Mbappe being kept quiet.

Did a lot of pressing to stop the French being able to play passes towards M'bappe. Not sure that sort of thing always gets noticed TBH.
