we do need at least one more player in their mid twenties in the central midfield to bridge the gap. we only have getting on quite a bit and really quite young, none of our mids are in their prime anymore. or yet. belingham plus someone 24-27 would suit me.

well keita and ox are the closest we've got, but i really hope we don't extend them. not bad players per se, but injury-prone and especially in keita's case just never quite fit the puzzle.

Bajetic is 18, he has plenty of time and probably needs a loan himself in the next season or 2. Is Morton going to be up to being Fab's regular rotation by next season? What do we do in the meantime?

We should be getting in a few midfielders by start of next season and one of them needs to at least be a solid DM, even its it's just his secondary position.

The old saying of if you’re good enough you’re old enough with Bajetic & he’s done little wrong, other than being a bit overwhelmed against City. Personally I think he looks a great prospect & I wouldn’t want him sending out on loan tbh

Only time will tell but the boss seems impressed with him. As far as young players go I’ve been more impressed with him than Carvalho at this stage of his development. He doesn’t appear to be overwhelmed for the most part, except the City match of course

I don’t think he’s ready for that yet. Happy for him to get sub appearances and cup games, but I definitely think we’ve room for another immediate option at DM without harming Bajcetic’s development.

I don’t have to be sure Fab should play the majority of matches , depending on fitness of course so I’m happy for Baj to play against weaker sides & come off the bench , cup matches etc but of course I do think we’ll strengthen our midfield with a variety of playing styles, just not sure an out and out DM is needed just yet

You do if you’re suggesting Bajcetic is the answer as the alternative to Fabinho from now on.

As I say, I’d even take a versatile midfielder who’s good to fill in at DM.

That was as bad a CM performance as ive ever seen. Couldn't pass the ball 10 yards and was just dangling a foot in on tackles. Their first goal was as feeble attempt at a tackle as ive seen.

Yep as bad as it could be really. Lucky to avoid being hooked at HT & Robbo wasn’t much better.

You'd hope so. But that begs the question, why did he stay on the pitch for as long as he did? Bajcetic is clearly a very capable player, and its not like Hendo was actually impacting the game in any positive way for us. He was a liability in that first half.

Ditto Robbo, who apparently had a dead leg, which would explain why he couldn't control the ball or kick the thing. Daft to even play him.
