Two more years ahead of us on this big contract - he needs to become a squad option instead of Milner

He did have a terrible game particularly first half and early second, but he was better towards the end, I think most of the team was poor only really Thiago and TAA come out with any credit.

I think we can all admit now that at this stage, although being a valuable servant to the club, if we want to get back to winning the big stuff.... we need better than Jordan Henderson as a starter.

I have been saying for ages we have a problem with our midfield with the injuries and the aging of first team players and the way we want to play it's a problem and is taking it's toll on Henderson, I think he would be fine playing one game a week, but at the moment we don't have the squad for that.

He should be having his minutes managed in what I called the Milner role of a few years back. I think we would be doing that had the intermidiate aged players like Ox and Naby worked out.(Only Fabinho has) But it has been obvious for a few years that that isn't the case. We now find ourselves in the position of having old players such as Milner, Henderson, Thiago who should be having their minutes managed and the likes of Elliott, Jones, Bajcetic, Morton, who aren't developed enough to know whether they have the ability and consistency to be what we need. We need a major rebuild of the midfield in the next year as it's likely Milner, Keita and Ox will all leave next summer, meaning we need 3 player to replace them

We need depth. Hendo played well against Villa, but we still rely on him to play every single match. We need to be able to rotate and not drop in quality.

Hendo should have scored last night. He can be frustratingly poor when he gets chances.

Henderson should just be used as an impact sub for when we get penalties.

We could use NFL rules and bring him on for penalty area de-fence.

Massive gap between our aging/unreliable midfielders and the young guns.
Piss poor management to allow the gap to become a chasm.
We need 1st team ready fresh midfield beef.

Flush oxo and keita, time for milner to make way. Next year it's time.for henderson and thiago to move on.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Henderson is always a bit crap in the holding role. He just does not have the instinct for it. And now his ability to close distances quickly is diminished, he was getting drawn too far up the pitch and easily turned, leaving a huge whole in the middle. Frankly that was probably the worst performamce from a midfielder in our team I have seen for a while.

We should have bought a backup holding midfielder years ago... But we always seem to only have one, and then it takes.years to.replace them.when the leave (Hamman, Masch). We need a deeper squad really, and have been lucky Fab has generally stayed fit.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

                          This guy is done.

He was at fault for that first goal, he cant pass the ball to save himself, he struts around like he's ****ing Zidane out there hitting long balls to absolutely nobody, cant tackle and has a touch that makes Kuyt look like Bergkamp. Complete dog****.

Also berates an 18yr old kid for not being able to control a **** pass when he's got Modric and Valverde up his arse waiting for it. Went all flappy arms when they sprung a counter attack afterwards. Total ****house antics from a captain.

I think he is finished alright to be honest.

I know hindsight is a great thing but it was a terrible decision to give him that contract.

I think he was a great guy as captain when the team were in good form......to keep pushing that and keeping it going etc. But when the chips are down, he's actually counter productive for the rest of the players. Don't see him being part of the solution going forward.

To be honest though, Virgil and Robertson arent far behind him in the "fallen off a cliff" stakes. And Fabinho is worse than them all in that category

To be fair to him we should not have been relying on him to play twice in a week at his age. The three points on the weekend or the CL should have been the goal with him , not both
