He’s likely not going to be a starter when he’s 34/35, if he doesn’t want to accept being an occasional player for LFC in his mid thirties, and to be paid accordingly, then he should move on. If he does, great, a deal will get done.

If we were happy for Gini to let his contract run down, then I think we will be with Henderson as well. In reality he is a brilliant player for us and important to the team.....but in 2 years time then who knows how he will be. I suspect he is similar to Milner in that he will be able to adjust his game. Also, in 2 years time Milner will no longer be an LFC player so it is possible that Henderson will take his place in the squad in being a squad player who is valuable to come off the bench etc.

If he wants a one year extension to what he already has, then that should be fair enough I think. If he wants more than that - 2 years - and/or a raise, then I'm not sure he is being realistic.
