Much as I love Hendo, it's not cold, just pragmatic. Sentiment has little place on the pitch. Players eventually outlive their usefulness, and unless they are willing to accept a lower wage etc, then at some point you have to bite the bullet and let them go.

He hasn’t yet, though he is becoming increasingly injury prone. But he’s got 2 years on his deal and I don’t think the club actually want to lose him this summer, they just don’t want to commit to a long term contract which would keep him well in to his 30s.

As Pepe says, I don't think he has yet, but with 2 years left to run why do we need to commit now? Give him a year, see how he goes. Or, as we did with Gini, let his contract run down and allow him to either accept a new deal with us or leave to a club of his choosing when the contract expires.

The news that PSG and a Spanish club are "waiting in the wings" to me sounds like a negotiating tactic from an agent, but as we don't have to sell this year, nothing is likely to happen.

I think this story is a nothingburger, but the reality for Hendo is likely to be similar to the Gini story...only a short-term contract will be on offer. Of course, if you are confident about your form and your fitness, you will be confident that it will be rolled over so then it is just about money. And for Gini it was all about money. For Hendo, I wonder.

It wouldn’t be coming from the club, it would Henderson’s agents.
Pearce and Dom King running the same info would suggest they’ve been genuinely briefed by his camp.
