You don't think stats equate to evidence?

Of course they're context free. Because they're stats

What you're actually saying is "I don't think he was very good" without anything more than the wafer thin "could have used the ball better"

Buzzo - could you please provide the same statistics for all of the central midfielders in all of the Prem games played last night, so that we can compare and contrast?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

If they score their penalty, nobody is coming online to say how well he played or how captain like his performance was. Yes there are people who will be over critical out of habit, but there are also people trying to make out that an average performance was great because he wasn’t crap. Both have been a bit of theme with Henderson over the years.
We may as well also say 'if he had scored 2 goals and got 2 assists we all would be raving about it'. Hypotheticals arent really relevant.

The only way is to watch the game back if you arent convinced. He played well when we played well. He fell away as the whole team did when we made subs.

In my mind the stats back what I saw. I'm happy with that. You feel otherwise, I can live with that also

        Neither of those make sense.

You’ve got to be skeptical. Why choose dribbles as a percentage? Because there was one maybe? Then not show the percentage for others like pass completion, interceptions? Without that info, and without comparison to others, or himself previously, or whatever, then I can’t take them as evidence of him having a good game, no. But I did watch the game, recall a few occasions where he misplaced pass or picked the wrong one and also recall him spreading the play well on occasions and closed down a potential counter attack well.

Overall, good result and we did well first half and were second best second half. It was a pretty average team performance and he was on par with the team.

He scored 7.45 on whoscored which is pretty good score and not inflated by goals or set pieces.

That statistically made him the 3rd best player on the pitch (behind Ali and Nunez) and regardless of how effective their metric or algorithm is, hardly suggest he was **** or terrible, as the best counter argument seems to stand at.

Yeah, he certainly wasn’t **** or terrible.

              This seems about right.

              i'd have gone 7.5/10 myself.

Remember when we gave ratings for players post match, or did I dream that?

I seen a similar fan one that had him at 4.5, which proves your previous point.

I would side with the TIA readers out of any of those ratings for this game, imo they are the most realistic representation of what I saw in the game.

Of course they do. All a statistic does is tell you, without bias or opinion, a fact. Which stats are chosen (or perhaps which are not) is of course more of a tell, but we don't have visibility of anything but what Buzzo posted

Honest man you'd argue with yourself if there was no-one else to

Why do we have to be skeptical? YOU have to be, because despite watching the game you think he was average. I don't, I thought he was very good so those statistics THAT ARE NOT EXHAUSTIVE BY ANY MEANS support that opinion

I will concede that I am perhaps overly positive when it comes to Liverpool, probably as much as to counter the overwhelmingly negative posts on this site; but still

I thought he was average vs West Ham and whoscored.com have given Hendo a 6.7 rating across the board this season if you wanna go with what they say. For me 6.7 is in and around what I thought his performance was before any of those player ratings were posted up.

the amount of work shuffling side to side covering in this 2 man midfield compared to the usual 3 is a lot, can't see many completing 90 mins

Fair play to Hendo though, he still made two lung-busting runs down the inside right channel (or was it more?)
