could well be... he did make a last minute play to try and convince him to stay according to some sources, so maybe it's an amicable/expected parting of the ways.

Klopp also can't be seen to let his head go down with the rest of the squad and new lads coming in. He's in 'Anthea Turner' mode and needs to be full or smiles, energy and excitable for the future... at least on the outside.

New season, new challenge.

Seriously who cares…. I’m glad he is going, the team needed a major overhaul and we are getting it. There is nothing special about Henderson that can’t be replaced plus added energy and youth. Really exciting times, just really hope the deal is completed now. Think Klopp will be secretly delighted also!

Apparently so. This a number of other similar disagreements.

In nut shell, Edwards wanted to replace aging/regressing players before they went downhill, but Klopp/Lijnders wanted to stick with what we had and Klopp had the final word.

Hence a bunch of contract extensions and not so many new signings.
