Imagine questions like this from English media

Why did you clip the ball to the back post Jordan, why didn’t you go with your runner Jordan

Update it’s a 97th minute Fergie Time equaliser for Ajax. The 1st goal was a penalty, I wonder if Hendo took the ball in protection mode or if he’s given that away now

Our penalty takers would have felt safer.

    For stretches we were, yes.

And saying the Henderson 'excelled' in 2021/22 is you giving your opinion. And I'm scoffing at that

And yes we can point to other reasons too. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t true that Henderson was largely poor in 2021/22.

I think there were multiple reasons we dropped points. I don’t think Hendo carries the blame for any of them, he’s always been a convenient scapegoat.

Our midfield was poor off the ball in all these games (and others) and Henderson’s performance was a standout issue.

Yes we had an outstanding season overall, but we can still point to reasons that we dropped points that contributed to missing out on the title.

Henderson, particularly in the first half of the that season, struggled. He certainly didn’t excel.

We got 92 points and only lost 2 games that season, he played in most of them (35 out of 38). We scored 94 goals in the League and only let in 26, what, despite him?

We also got to the CL final with him playing most games and should have won the final.

Oh, and he lifted the FA Cup and the League cup. Somehow.

    I reckon he did alright.

Given that Ajax don’t ever buy household names, it’s not that hard to believe.

    Yeh my mistake. Fair point

I don’t blame him though. Ultimately that falls with Klopp for not replacing him as starter sooner.

Oh, and he lifted the FA Cup and the League cup. Hendo played 5 games in each. Somehow we one both with him playing.

    I reckon he did alright.
