I think he needs to be brought through real slowly and more crucially he has to develop physically
I've watched him in previous reserve games and hes looked small but against Chelsea he looked tiny
I think the odd cameo here and there is about right and next seeason we should again push him on but until he starts to develop physically I think they will hold him back and rightly so imo
he is nowhere near ready for regular action. Has to be nurtured along properly and eased in the first team. Hopefully will be a regular in time if he develops properly.

Henderson had good game but I thought Shelvey had much better game.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostHenderson had a really good game yesteday as did Shelvey.
Needs to produce that level on a cosistent basis but good to see he can do it.

Henderson was good, but he seems to have a habit of going under the radar.. I think he does a lot of unnoticed work rather than shying away though. Hope he imposes himself on games as he develops as a player but the early signs are pretty encouraging.Originally posted by Mostar View PostHenderson had good game but I thought Shelvey had much better game.

He has a long way to go and imo needs to work very hard to improve in various areas to be a player that we can rely on.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostHenderson was good, but he seems to have a habit of going under the radar.. Henderson had 39 starts this season in all competitions and scored 2 goals and had 3 assists.
Jonjo, on the other hand, had only 8 starts and scored the same number of goals at 2 and 1 assists.
Based on those numbers and based on what I have seen from both players this year I personally feel more encouraged by Jonjo's prospects than by Jordan.
That said, it is still very early to properly judge Henderson and I can only hope that he doesn't show the similar types of inconsistencies next season as he exibited this year.
He'll need to raise his game quite a bit and it will be interesting to see if he'll be the starter next season or he will be a squad option.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

How many of those games did he play in his favoured CM position?? To be fair to JH he's played a load of games on the right and did not look comfortable.Originally posted by Mostar View PostHe has a long way to go and imo needs to work very hard to improve in various areas to be a player that we can rely on.

Shelvey is a more attack minded player though, he's someone you could see playing a Gerrard type in the hole role. Henderson is a more deep lying player IMOOriginally posted by Mostar View PostHe has a long way to go and imo needs to work very hard to improve in various areas to be a player that we can rely on.

But isn't that where he had played most of his career before us.Originally posted by cled the red View PostHow many of those games did he play in his favoured CM position?? To be fair to JH he's played a load of games on the right and did not look comfortable.

thats what i thought.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostBut isn't that where he had played most of his career before us.
so, was he bought to be a right winger, cos thats the position he must have been playing when he was scouted.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I agree. I thought Shelvey and Henderson would be fighting it out for the same position, but - like you say - with the right development, I think Henderson could take the more withdrawn role pulling the strings with Shelvey going forward.Originally posted by acdmackay View PostPossible future of midfield there. A good possibility mate but, i think we will see a top top quality CM come in durring the tranfer window IMOOriginally posted by Muddled View PostI agree. Henderson is not ready to hold such an important role in our CM. Until he can learn to dictate games he should not be a starter. I would not trust Henderson in a withdrawn role infront of the backline, as he does not tackle.
Shelvey and Henderson have such a long way to go & at moment neither are good enough to be starters in a successful LFC side. Think few people getting bit carried away.
