Henderson wasn't afraid to take control of the game, seek the ball and get involved. He could've watched Chelsea's pathetic excuse of a midfield and relaxed, but he didn't.
Assuring performance and I hope it's a big confidence booster for him. This season has been massive for his development and I look forward to seeing him next season after a summer of reflection on his part.

i think henderson plays better alongside shelvey. In the two or three games theyve played together both look pretty good.
I wonder if playing with spearing somehow puts henderson off because spearing shouts a lot or constantly demands the ball of hendo and doesnt let him play his own game. It might just be that shelvey moves away from hendo as hes naturally forward thinking and this gives jordan the responsbility to make decisions that otherwise spearing wouldnt allow him to.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

i agree there's no way you would start each game with him but its last home game of the season and he's up against a right back whos pretty useless why not put him in. Or at least give him a full 45 mins so he can have a good go.Originally posted by Lecter View PostSterling looked very small last night

In fact if you look at our young attacking talents coming through theres nothing chicken about the way they play. Sterling and silva in particular run past players for fun and you can see that they like taking players on. Suso has class oozing from his left foot and you just know that this lad had something special about him. Those three in a couple of seasons could form some attacking trio and downings chickeness might be a distant memory.
I think that sterling should be on every bench in every game we play and in carling cup games you've got to give these lads some game time. Silvas doing alright at northampton and he looks a right handful at that level and as I said suso is a special talent and he could become another david silva.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

That's why I'm a little peeved at all the wasted opportunities where he could've played more & therefore developed faster, under little to no pressure as some of our league games towards the end of the season have had little meaning...Originally posted by Lecter View PostSterling looked very small last night

But surely all the work that lecter is talking about in terms of size and strength is to be done in the gym not on the pitch?Originally posted by Nick77 View PostThat's why I'm a little peeved at all the wasted opportunities where he could've played more & therefore developed faster, under little to no pressure as some of our league games towards the end of the season have had little meaning...
I disagree anyways, im all for supporting youth but he's still 17 and after having seen what happened to Owen i genuinely believe that putting too much physical demand on a teenagers body when its still developing could be detrimental to their long-term fitness especially in players who are very pacey, one could make the same argument for Torres who was a regular at atleti at 17 however in both those cases im sure there were many other factors that hampered their fitness and left them a yard or two slower and thus worse players for it!Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Of course that's true but no gym or training in the world can compare to gaining actual match fitness...Originally posted by lil_luis_07 View PostBut surely all the work that lecter is talking about in terms of size and strength is to be done in the gym not on the pitch? Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

I think he needs to be brought through real slowly and more crucially he has to develop physically
I've watched him in previous reserve games and hes looked small but against Chelsea he looked tiny
I think the odd cameo here and there is about right and next seeason we should again push him on but until he starts to develop physically I think they will hold him back and rightly so imoBob Paisley - "This club has been my life.
