Ah, ok, I see the point of restricting the question to midfielders - it's not much of a conundrum who's the best passer in the whole squad.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Whilst omitting words isn't quite punctuation, I do have the 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves' book to read to help in future muddled* posts.

I certainly feel aggrieved not to have been selected.

Is the midfielder in question Maxi? If not the obvious answer - Lucas - will have to be the one.

Pretty sure it is Maxi, I know he was overall our most accurate passer.

I'd got Wee Spearing at 86% short and 79% long.

Alas, I couldn't find Maxi. So perhaps I should have said:

Oh, and guess which central midfielder out of our current squad had the best pass completion rate, both short and long ...

                        I bet it's Adam.

Adam was 80% short and 66% long (lowest of all central midfielders) and attempted 15% long (most of all central midfielders), attempting pretty much double the amount of long passes than any other central midfielder, but up there with Henderson in the amount of short passes.

So I guess it would be safe to assume that Adam's pass completion ratio would increase relatively dramatically if he cut out the Hollywood balls and retained possession short.

Adam is 26 (27 in december)

Downing will be 28 next month

                              Good.

So we still have a chance to sell them both.
