Yeah when he had zero defensive responsible and Lucas was mopping up behind him he had 5 stormers in a row. Whether he will fit into the way Rogers plays i'm not so sure. IMO good squaddie

Do you really see us getting into the top 4 with that midfield ?? I'm not having a go at you but that midfield is barely top 8 quality let alone CL quality IMO. Lucas is a good player, Shelvey is a fairly limited but likeable grafter who may one day become a decent squad player in a good team and Henderson is a spineless non entity who hopefully will be on his way out in a years time.
Outside of that we have a great but declining player in Stevie who is wasted in the middle IMO but I suppose he can do a job in MF. Our midfield backup is Adam and Spearing. How inspiring.

If rumours are to be believed BR is planning an overhaul of our MF starting with signing Sigurdsson, that news encourages me to believe that BR can see the reality of just how bad our midfield is.

No but at the moment for what we have in the squad thats what I'd play, Gerrard playing in midfield is a waste and he's just not disciplined enough.

Ideally we bring in another experienced midfielder (posted that somewhere before) to fit in and leave Shelvey and Henderson to be rotated in and out of the squad. I'd also put Gerrard up off the front man as thats where we'll get the most out of him although again if we brought in someone who could offer some attacking creativity you could see him being pushed back.

Sigurdsson coming in would offer that.

This was based off what we have at the moment, Adam for me isn't athletic enough and Jay whilst tries isn't good enough.

Basically we need to bring in players

why? Depends how you go about playing football, if you play possession football with moving it around they have the attributes to play that way

While I don't think they would be destroy, there isn't enough quality there to get us near the top 4.

Maybe in a years time if Lucas is back to full fitness and form he was showing before the injury, if Henderson improves massively, grows some balls and starts to dictate games & Shelvey progresses, that line up might look good. But IMO at the moment it would get destroyed.

Lucas is a worry but my point with the earlier post was with what we have at the moment, not what we might have and how best we can utilise the players we do have.

Gerrard is best used further forward IMO and can do more damage than anyother option we have bar Suarez hence that line up

Maxi or Bellamy are good squad optinos. We really don't know how Rogers is going to
set us up either, don't kow how he'll play Carroll either ? He'll have a look at what's available to him, and most definately add to the squad that i do agree with mate.

I think henderson will be ok, He has the attributes and age. Not convinced on the others.

I really think Downing could be gone, still got reasonable money for him and Rodgers has been around the premiership long enough to know he is a lily livered chimp.

i pray that Downing is gone. I'm not a fan of Henderson but i have no problem in giving him another season to prove himself as he is young.

Carroll will be an interesting one for sure.
