Referee was poor last night .. made a number of calls based on the crowd I felt .., Hendos Yellow card was an inch perfect tackle ... at the other end .. how he gives a free kick and not a penalty against us I do not know ... no consistency in the game with these decisionsOriginally posted by Lee View Post
Unfortunate too that he had a couple of poor decisions go against him.
Over all I suppose he did not affect the outcome too much and thats something.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

So was I. Think Rodgers got that badly wrong and soon enough he will realise. Henderson has only just turned 22 and last night the commentators were referring to him as one of the senior players. He will keep improving and by the time he's about 24 he will IMO be an important player for us. I know he's not a swashbuckling, eyecatching type but nonetheless it surprises me how many people can't see it. Reminds me very much of the Lucas situation.Originally posted by MrNice View PostYep .. very solid .. very solid indeed .. I was genuinely shocked when we tried to offload him ... perhaps it was an Alonso situationThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah the referee was dog**** and Henderson's booking was a disgrace. He clearly got the ball.Originally posted by MrNice View PostReferee was poor last night .. made a number of calls based on the crowd I felt .., Hendos Yellow card was an inch perfect tackle ... at the other end .. how he gives a free kick and not a penalty against us I do not know ... no consistency in the game with these decisions

I like it when he goes off on one and has a go at the officials.

He's a good player but just needs to grow some bigger balls. That'll come in time when he's older and playing in an improved LFC team.
Originally posted by SB View PostI think he'll thrive being out of the spotlight that he was under last season. It's hard being reminded that we 'supposedly' paid £20m for him & trying to live up to that as a youngster.
That £20m quote pisses me off. Wasn't it £13m, rising to £16m? If one of our rivals came in and paid £13m for a young English prospect we'd be moaning as to why we weren't in for him.
**** the money now, I think he'll be a good squad player.

We have 3 young midfielders in lucas, allen and sahin who can play the holding role, maybe gerrard too in a year or 2s time as he winds down as barnes did.
Henderson is not a winger nor the focal point of an attacking midfield. so realistically his chances in the future would be limited if we're bringing through the likes of Suso & Shelvey
Think his ability means he can fit into our style of play pretty well and he is a good player. Its just that we look well stocked for midfield and he's a good way down the pecking order. If he can stay and fight for a place then we're better off should get get a load of injuries but if we could get 5 m+ for him now then we may as well strengthen other areas. Hence the dempsey swap made perfect sense.

I've always thought he had the most potential from CHAD but I still think he's got a long way to go to get to a consistent Premiership first XI standard. His pass selection is a bit iffy at times and I think it's to do with a lack of confidence. Should not have started ahead of Kuyt on the right last season.

I think that could happen but it is contingent on either him or a manager deciding what sort of player he should be and developing his game accordingly. The case of Lucas is instructive in the sense that clearly Rafa had spotted something in him few others did and converted him to an excellent DM.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSo was I. Side note: It would be interesting to hear what Rafa thought of Henderson."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
