That'd be win win. Don't like seeing Downing on the right tbh. That mazy run against Sunderland when he hit the bar aside, his best work has came from the left.

True that. Pricetag pick isnt probably the best way of terming it, but i wonder if shaggy's right about Henderson being one of kenny's favourites.

It's ironic, Dirk used to get picked down the right all the time and got accused of being a Rafa favourite. Now he's actually worthy of a place on merit, and he keeps getting cut in favour of Henderson.

Fail to see anything he brings to the team/game. May well have bags of potential but not in the position hes been playing and playing him yesterday after his performance at stoke was a mistake on kenny's part.

Kuyt or bellamy should have been playing instead. Im doubting Adam's quality as well, hes a poor mans alonso. Makes far too many mistakes for me.

All that being said, its early days and they are settling in at the club so benefit of the doubt for now.

He's not even a poor man's Alonso. Nothing alike IMO other than he likes to try 50 yard diagonals. Only Xabi lands them on a sixpence and Adam's success rate is questionable at best.

I do think Adam will be handy at Anfield against weaker teams, a kind of flat track bully. In the helter skelter of bigger games, when he's pressurised on the ball, it looks like he's going to be nowhere near good enough.

maybe not the right thread but regarding adam/lucas....and i said the same when it was lucas/merieles at time last year...

if i was a half decent centre mid playing in the prem i'd be licking my lips at thought of playing against them two....

neither are very quick so i'd be confident of gettting the ball of them and getting away from them

neither are great tacklers or get stuck in so i wouldn't be scared of getting clattered by them and reckon i'd win most 50-50's

neither are really great in the air so i'd be confident of winning every header

lucas isn't a threat going forward so i wouldn't be too concerned if he had the ball 35 yards out.

Both are decent enough job doers but we need a top centre mid to be the main man with one of those two alongside him to do their jobs.

Prime example.....Scott Parker last year and this year....a decent centre mid who has work rate, tackles and heart....just ****ing dominates us in the middle every time.....if we had mascher/momo/alonso/gerrard playing it'd never happen
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

We need a Modric type in our midfield, somebody who play can football.

I'm not anti Henderson (honestly) as I think he could develop into a good player when he's found his niche in the team. However, the manager should know when to play him and and when not seeing him day in and day out in training.

Fans knew playing him against Spurs was a big no, doesn't matter how many wonder goals or keepy uppy he manages in training. In a real match, of some importance, his output was going be to low being such a new player low on confidence. You don't build a player's confidence by just chucking him in for every game going.

We need a Yaya Toure type who can dominate a midfield, win the ball and set up attacks.

A Ball winner next to Adam or Henderson may work. Currently the midfield is made up of average guys who are too flimsy and won't dominate possession.

He'll improve. No need to be on his back after so few games imo, but hey that's just me. I felt the same way when Lucas was getting disgusting abuse from our own fans, and look how he turned out.

You just can't expect a 21 year old to be on firing form when does around him are playing ****, unless that lad is messi, ronaldo etc. Virtually everyone was rubbish today.
thats fare points mate and i do hope he turns out to be a success, as i said before though i just don't think he should start every week, he clearly isn't ready yet and we can't afford to have any passengers this season IMO.

But each to their own sure we all want whats is best for the club, just have different opinions of what that is, all good

I'm thinking Lucas, Gerrard and an intricate (Modric, Nasri, Siva, Iniesta, wilshere) type of player in a three man midfield.

IMO Mata would have been perfect for that role.
