Agree with whoever said he'll be better when Johnson comes back. A more natural pairing, with Henderson's infield drifting opening up the space for Johnson to do his thing.

Should never be a regular at this stage though, especially with two proven, seasoned internationals like Kuyt and Maxi waiting in the wings.

Dirk is a derby expert and surely, has to play next week. Has to.

Against Everton I'd drop Adam, move Henderon into the middle and stick Kuyt on the right.

Henderson's energy, workrate and ability to break from midfield would complement Lucas IMO.

I've been wanting to see him in CM or a while. All talk has been how he was quite ineffective for Sunderland at RM but when played CM he did really well.

Kenny has been very adamant in starting Henderson, but i think that was one annoymous game to many although Henderson clearly doesn't suit RM, Kuyt is a big game player a surely must start? Biggest question ark for me is will Gerrard start? If he does would it be Adam or Carroll's place that goes?

would bring in Kuyt on the right and drop Adam also and if Gerrard is not right for 90mins put henderson in the centre.

I seem to remember people questioning Kuyt playing on the right when Rafa first moved him there.
He's now grown into the role so well that I prefer him there to up front or off the front man where I don't think his touch is good enough.
Henderson has done just fine and will only get better the more he plays for us, regardless of position

I'd love to see Gerrard start but i think the derby is just too soon for him. Definitely start Kuyt he is a big game player and has great record vs Everton.

As for Henderson at CM, personally i'd stick with Adam but he does pose some problems for us i.e. fades out of game & switches off defensively. IMO Henderson should be used sparingly over next few games, give him 15-20 mins and use his energy and that engine as more of an impact player, hopefully get some confidence into the lad.

But i do agree that he would be better off at CM rather than RM, although does he have the aggression to cut it, in the middle of the park?

Saw him a few times last season for SUnderland yes he does, He bossed the midfield agains Chelsea and Scum from the centre mid.

I think his running is exactyl waht we need in the centre against everton.

He really needs to be used from the bench and eased into the team. Still has a lot to learn and a lot of developing to do. We really have paid a premium for potential, and I just hope he realises it.

I agree in a red shirt he has been but seen him enough in a SUnderland shirt to know there is much more to his game than he has shown.

And while he has been almost a wall flower for us, I would say that you have to see him live to appreciate his game although not sure I would recommend that at the moment

Charlie Adam is one of the worst tacklers I've seen play in our midfield. Makes Scholes look accomplished.
