He's doing very well at the moment and deserves the shirt on merit at the moment, the interaction between him and Gerrard is good and looks to be improving each game.

our midfield looks much more balanced with him in there instead of allen or shelvey. he works harder than most and he always tracks back.
hes got everything in his game, technical ability, tactical nous (with rodgers help), fitness and stamina and he's adding some goals too which wont do him any harm.
what will be more interesting is that in time to come when gerrard hangs up his boots where he will play. will rodgers keep him where he is now which is sort of on the left or the middle of the 3 in the 4231 or will he move him back into the two sitters with lucas.
i dont think he's quite creative enough to play behind sturridge but like james milner is the sort of player who can restore the balance between the creative players like suarez and say sterling/coutinho and the team work ethic.
him being there allows the others like suarez to do what they do best and not worry too much about whats in behind.
effectively imo he's the dirk kuyt of this generation.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

deserves credit for improving recently but as i keep harping on about... i think we need better than him and Allen.
At the moment between him and Allen/Shelvey.... no contest.

if rodgers wants both fullbacks pushing right on then you dont need henderson to be very creative. be steady, look to pick up second balls and keep the ball moving to those who can make things happen. he doesnt have to beat three players if suarez or coutinho can.Originally posted by danperkins View Post

when we're being attacked he tracks back and fills in the gaps left by the attacking players to give the balance to the team.
superb player imo.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

If he keeps on improving, who's to say he won't become the long term solution?Originally posted by danperkins View Post

That would be fantastic if he improved to the stage where we didn't feel like we needed anyone else in there instead of Henderson.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIf he keeps on improving, who's to say he won't become the long term solution?
His technique has never been in doubt just his mentality. I still feel we need better but his improvement is a big relief, even if i'm not a massive fan... credit where it's due and long may it last
