I'm not talking about last season, a season in which Henderson performed much better than what's he credited for.

We all know the lad's faults but they're mainly mental, it is up to the manager to unlock his potential.

Wrongly IMO, Rodgers sees no future for Henderson at LFC.

Big him up, give him belief and watch him blossom. He's struggling because he's barely played, or he's played in an unfamiliar position, or the fact his confidence is shot thanks to us trying to use him in the Dempsey deal (FFS).

Most of Henderson's poor form can be placed at Rodger's door IMO.

The lad clearly has a lot of skill, he's a hard worker, and has a good engine, plus he's young so really he's the kind of player we should be nuturing.

Instead, the writing it clearly on the wall for him and I'm not entirely sure why.
I think Rodgers has to take some responsibility for this and I do think he was to some extent a victim of being bought in by the last regime. However, it is Rodgers job to make these decisions. If he doesn't rate him then that is fair enough. He will stand or fall on the overall success of the team/club not how well he develops Henderson. If Rodgers can't/won't put the effort in (or Henderson doesn't respond when he does in training or whatever) then he has to go.

I like him for all the reasons you mention but on the flip side a lot of players have not made it simply because of their mentality. Downing is a clear example of that. Sometimes a decision has to be made on these things.

He hasn't said much wrong though has he though?

You say he is mentally not strong enough? I don't buy into that at all. He is just not good enough full stop. He had an opportunity to move on and he never took it - the fault lies with Henderson and not Rodgers. He has no ambition or desire. Even Andy Carroll took the opportunity to move on

Anyone got a idea of what we actually paid for him?

£13 million plus add-ons upto max £16 million according to the Echo

                    So £13 million then

Harsh to blame the manager. Rodger's has given Henderson the Europa League and cup games to show what he can do, and so far he hasn't done enough to convince that he should be featuring more in the League as well.

That's not too bad then, might be able to recover a good portion of it.

Is correct. Henderson is a little overawed at playing for us at the moment, his head is fluffy. I don't think he can be trusted in the league yet, whether he gains the Manager's trust remains to be seen

                              I think thats bull frankly

United had sniffed around the previous year and been quoted £20 million or something daft like that

I'm not his biggest fan but judging a player on his performances in the europa league and cup are a little harsh when those teams are often full of youngsters and reserves that have had little playing time together. (This bit now doesn't relate to Henderson) But I've always thought its easier for a youngster to come in to the first team and make an impact when he's surrounded by the best players at the club or coming into a successful team. Its much harder to make an impression when the team has been hashed together.

I just don't know what position that Henderson is best suited to. If its centre midfield he needs to stay back and put the hours in to hone the defensive tackling side of his game.
