Is he carrying a long term injury? All too often the slowest player on the pitch this season, and he seems barely able to run after half an hour. Brighton were breaking through our half hearted press and Hendo was following back at almost walking pace. You don’t associate lack of effort with him, but can he just not do it anymore, or does he have a temporary issue?Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Well if there's nothing doing with the criminal charges he was associated with a couple of months back then Bissouma would be perfect.Originally posted by Charly View PostI dont think he or the team are effective with him holding. I think we desperately need a backup for Fabinho. Was muß, das muß.

I think it's harsh on Hendo, it's not his position but we keep getting so many injuries that he constantly has to change his game. He was bolloxed in that 2nd half yesterday. Yes he hasn't been his best but he is also being asked to play roles which he's just not effective in. A Gini replacement is what we miss, that midfield is missing legs something desperate. I am hoping we will address that in January.

Its not an attack on Hendo. Hendo should have been playing in Gini's place and another player should have been holding. That is down to Klopp not having a direct replacement who is a holdling midfielder/ball winner.
I think we have to "make do" a bit.
If it was me managing in a football manager game, I would make that a priority. In the past 30 years we have only seen success or been a solid side with a specialised holding midfielderLast edited by Charly; 31-10-21, 03:43 PM.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Klopp messed up last year trying to improvise a defence by playing midfielders and that left us decimated, but he eventual played some less established defenders in defence and it turned out ok.Originally posted by Charly View PostIts not an attack on Hendo. hes going to do it again with our defensive midfield...removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Tyler Morton?
I am not sure any of our esteblished players can play there. Didi Hamman was regarded as a more attacking midfielder, and became a masterfull exa, ple, but I dont really see it with any of our other midfielders. Heno is the closest, and I just dont think he has the feels for it. He is more effective pushing further up the pitch. Most of the others are attacking. Thiago may have the head, but he is not big enough and not really a ball winner. The only other option might be Millie. Not sure if he has the legs, but I would rather he play there than Hendo. Otherwise its Hendo and Millie as a duel holding midfield... I am not sure we can press as effectively with that shape. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I'm slightly concerned our midfield is broken post Gini.
Fab is number 1.
Thiago is always injured and he doesn't have the intensity we need imo. He's used to setting the tempo but he plays so slowly, he's like a conductor trying to control an unruly orchestra marching off.
Jones is stuck doing a poor mans Gini impression than being able to make his own role and play to his strengths.
Milner is fine but not long term.
Worried about Hendersons legs.
AOC looks done, Keita is Keita.
We were robbed of Elliotts break out season.
I think a refresh is needed, Fab plus Elliott/Jones the only must keeps.
Will be interesting to see formation and shape over the next few games to see us to the international break.

Yeah he could come back and stink up the place like he does at PSG when he plays. All well and good having a guy that is nearly always fit but he was poor for a good chunk of last season and he has continued that poor form since moving to PSG.
Maybe, just maybe, Klopp knew what he was doing with regards to the timing of letting Wijnaldum go.
Where we have gone wrong imo is not in the not replacing of Wijnaldum (though I still think Thiago was to be that replacement tbh) but rather in the not having replaced one or more of the unreliable back ups for the midfield slots.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
