I think he's a good defender, just his decision making lets him down.
He needs to learn to stay on his feet and not lunge in. Don't get me wrong we all love a slidy tackle and he's good at it but sometimes you just need to stay on your feet no matter how much you want to lunge in and smash someone.
If he could learn some discipline and self-control he'd be a much better all round player but he can't because he's too ****ing stupid.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Did we concede today?Originally posted by captainfog View PostHe's dog****. Just **** the tit off. The fact Rodgers keeps picking him every week is a real worry and sets the alarm bells ringing.

Gets goals too which is rare for a defender.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

No we didn't, no thanks to ****tles who did his best to present them with a gilt edged chance. Luckily for him and us they fluffed their lines.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostDid we concede today?

He's garbage.

He's 30, been with us 7 years and so far havn't managed to learn not to wander headless in to tackles out of position - doubt he will at this stage of his carreer tbh.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostDid we concede today?

I've never been a fan of Skrtel, and I really believe he is the one that needs changing in that area of the pitch!

Always liked Skrtel but his mistakes seem to be more often these days, maybe he lacks an organiser? Looked good next to Carragher, always wanted him and Agger to get a go and when they did there seemed to be mistakes again.
he's lost without an organiser. Can make 10 great clearances and 10 great tackles but then make a crucial mistake.
He is nowhere near as bad as some make out, he is commited, decent on the ball, loves a tackle & is very good in the air. Unfortunately he can also be rash, headless & couldn't organise a ****ing a piss up in a brewery.
We need another CB anyways that's sure. Another keeper for me is even more pressing.

Yep. We got the clean sheet but christ he was terrifying again. After nearly managing to gift Ings a goal by selling himself, getting done and them hitting the post he managed to top the ****ness of it in stoppage time. That header, oh my ****ing word, thankfully we got away with it, not so lucky most other weeks though.Originally posted by Darkon View PostHe's 30, been with us 7 years and so far havn't managed to learn not to wander headless in to tackles out of position - doubt he will at this stage of his carreer tbh.

Also, do we ever catch anyone offside?! Doesn't feel like it because he just loves to feel the goalkeepers breath on his neck, Simon/Brad's toothpaste must be real good.
The biggest problem at the club.

Totally agree, Foggy. Just shows how bad Lovren is when this chump isn't the worst defender on the park. He's total garbage. From his awesome debut at Havant and Waterlooville to now he's had maybe 6 months of hash free football. The rest of the time he's been frequently calamitous.Originally posted by captainfog View PostNo we didn't, no thanks to ****tles who did his best to present them with a gilt edged chance. He's garbage.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

He'd be great, was great (good? not jaw droppingly terrifying?) with someone like Carragher
Might have rose tinted specs on, but I'm fairly sure we didn't all despair at him alongside CarraI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Has someone just described Skrtel as decent on the ball and very good in the air.
Do you even watch Liverpool games, are you pissed, in fact are you actually even awake or is this sleep posting??
Jesus wept, he's appalling and has been for the bulk of his 7 years with us, it sums up Liverpool FC that he has lasted 7 years.
He's **** scared in possession, he's (probably) solely responsible for Mingolet's loss in confidence as he passes the ******* ball at him (not to him, at him) every 60 seconds, he gets bullied by almost every single centre forward and if he had hair, wore long sleeved shirts and wasn't covered in tats he'd be (rightly) ridiculed. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
