Skrtel is one of a handful of players I really hope we finally get rid of before next season. However I fully expect rodgers to give him an extension. Not because he's good or anything. But for the same reasons Johnson was offered one. I'm trying not to say rodgers is thick.

Careful, I've had pelters before for saying the sameOriginally posted by tanner View PostTalk about absence making the heart grow fonder. Sakho was pretty bloody average at best before he vanished, the next thing you know he's our saviour. He just never looks comfortable to me, he's one of those lads who simply doesn't look natural on the ball, the way he passes it at times, like a kid who's never kicked a ball before.
I think we could sell them all off at a car boot sale tomorrow morning(probably make enough to cover entry and fuel), bring in 4 new defenders for Monday and we'd be no worse off.

Even is Sakho was performing well how do you build a side around him? He's always injured. Injured this season for a while. Injured last season for a while. Got injured during the World Cup for France. It's ridiculous.Originally posted by rcasemore View Post
Whilst he looks ungainly he's axtually very good on the ball and a good passer of the ball.
Partner him with the right player and I think we could have a decent pairing for a few years I mean he's been a mainstay of the French national side for the past couple of years so he must have something about him.
If you're going to build a team around a player, at least make sure it's one who has a good injury record.Forwards.......

Almost all footballers suffer from injuries its part and parcel of the game especially at the back.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostEven is Sakho was performing well how do you build a side around him? You complete me MuddsOriginally posted by Muddled View PostI think it's for those reasons (Tanner's, not Kenneth's) people don't rate Sakho. He looks cumbersome and odd, but if you look past his posture and how he actually defends, he is more than capable. His zipped ball to feet into midfield is his trademark, but he's actually very competent in an ever changing back line. Build our defence around him. He's young and this transitional period will help iron out his want to step up. Although, saying that, maybe it will be resolved by simply partnering him with somebody who doesn't always retreat.

I think Sakho is a bit **** but for different reasons. I've not got a problem with his technique and his passing, but I do have a problem with him diving into to challenges when should be staying on his feet and I also despair when I see him charging towards the ball and out of position. I don't think he's much better than Lovren and ****tles, but he is better and should start ahead of both of them.

I only remember one injury for Carra, a broken leg, sure he missed an odd game here and there too, but not regular lengthy spells like Sakho.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostAlmost all footballers suffer from injuries its part and parcel of the game especially at the back.Forwards.......

Problem I have with Sakho is he's as quiet as a mouse at the back, despite being ex PSG captain when he was 17. I bet if I check back, it was to motivate the others as opposed to him being made a proper captain.
And like the rest, they don't cover for each other. They concentrate on their own job, which they **** up every now & again anyway. No communication.Forwards.......

So you've gone from injuries as a reason to not play him ? To now saying he's too quiet at the back, which is it ?
And with Carra I seem to remember a broken leg and a dislocated shoulder to name but a few injuries that kept him out. We need a partnership at the back and from the current crop of defenders he's the best one to be the focal point of that at the moment whether that changes with signings is another matter but until then.......

Seem to recall that he has captained the French national team on occasion. Pretty sure that he was made captain for their must win play off game to get to the World cup finals, and him having a beast of a game.
Watched that game on tv and as well as scoring he was very vocal in organising the back line and towards the midfielders ahead of him.
May well be a case of there still being a bit of a language barrier for him with us, not to mention him never having had a sustained run of games to get his confidence up with regards to giving orders to far more experienced players.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

that was probably when he looked a decent player i.e, when he wasn't actually playing and people had forgotten how bad he is, a poor man's jimmi traoreOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostEven is Sakho was performing well how do you build a side around him?
