I'll try harder to watch every team in the world on a regular basis to come up with alternatives to big Marty. Didn't know I had to until now. Up to now though I've watched every game he's played for us and while he's not "the" problem he's absolutely one of them. And he's far from alone sadly.

Skrtel is fine if there is someone alongside who can tell him what to do - he had a great season a few year back when Agger or Carragher we telling him what to do. G it's not that mate, listen I watch a lot of European football and I hear people on hear mentioning all these names like Ramos, Hummels, Varane, etc. I'm telling you these guys makes the same mistakes every ****ing week.
I watch the same LFC games your watching. Some people are just waiting for one mistake to jump the gun and everything else is forgotten. Today for example, did any of the people ripping the **** out of him actually see how many times he got us out of **** today? I bet it went totally unnoticed. Is he the organiser extroardinar? No but he's a good CB that needs aa reliable partner beside him.
Was he at fault for the Martial goal? Yes. Was he covering for an out of position Clyne? Yup. I'm don't deny for a second that he backs off too much but when ur playing against someone of the pace of Martial (he is about as fast as they come) there is always a tendency for a CB to d few drop deeper. He got done it happens but let's not completely ignore that he didn't make a single mistake the whole game and marked Fellaini and Herrara out of the game.
The Skrtel / Sakho is the best we've got IMO and that has been proven last season. Do I think Sakho is as good as you rate him? No, but he is streets ahead of Lovren.
For me, we do not have a manager that knows his players or how to play them. What system? What formation? What tactics? As many have said, the midfield is our major malfunction. Sort that and defence and attack will improve.Last edited by danperkins; 12-09-15, 11:52 PM.Comment

What do people expect Franco Baresi? We have a very functional CB in Skrtel that was one of the best CBs in the league last year... What exactly do people want?
Apart from Terry /Cahil,Mostly Terry to be fair.. Not one person could name a better CB in the league last year. Is that not an important thing for people? He is not the problem, but until we get our midfield sorted out we will concede goals.Comment
