He is a passionate player who leaves everything on the pitch and I think we would be significantly weaker without him. Oh, and he can play a bit too IMO.

This chap on RAWK gave two versions. One is that FSG and Rodgers accepted a bid in January but Skrtel refused to move. The other is that FSG & Rodgers said no but Skrtel wanted to go.
Anyway I'm going to stop peddling internet forum bull**** now.
Terrible management from Rodgers if he punishes Skrtel for showing loyalty.
Surprising that if he wanted to go Rodgers didn't cash in and replace him with a signing of his choice like Williams. Then, whey would Rodgers block the move and then drop him?
As you said, just rumour so no point speculating further. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

This is Skrtel not BaresiOriginally posted by Arn View PostPersonal reason to why he is dropped then
No chance that Skrtel stay if Rodgers is our manager next season, no chance.
By all accounts he's had one or two decent seasons since he's been here. He's tactically indisciplined and for a guy covered in tatts who looks like a nutter, he gets easily bullied
Not sure about you, but I'd rather keep Rodgers than Skrtel!

Really? Don't agree with that at all. In fact...neither did 172 other people on here and lots more from other sites.Originally posted by Sarb View PostHe isn't playing because he is indisciplined, got bullied by Oldham and was poor against Utd. He needs to have a look at himself before acting all baffled as to why he isn't playing.

Normally, I wouldn't lose any sleep over selling Skrtel. He's decent but struggles against certain types of forward.
However, having to replace three centrehalves in one summer is just asking for trouble.
Carragher retiring and Coates surely moving on means that neither Agger or Skrtel should be allowed to go.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

agree we need to keep skrtel and agger with carra retiring and coates struggling
i personally think if we sign one top centre half and then a good left back to challenge/give cover to enrique then we can look at either wisdom/kelly at providing cover to the centre backs
eg
johnson
kelly
agger
new centre half
skrtel
wisdom
new lb
enrique
should be enough and in an ideal situation send flanagan, robinson and coates on good loans with a recall option if desperatei own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I think Skrtl has been handled poorly by Brendan. I am glad Carra is getting more chances but Skrtl /Agger defense has the chance to be our future central defense partnership and the focus should have been on developing them.
I agree he is not Baresi, but he is a very competent defender who could be a component of an effective defense. Agger/Skrtl were more than decent last season. So this summer we could potentially loose Carra, Coates, Skrtl, and Reina.
Has such a large scale overhaul of defense ever worked other than Houlliers legendary summer.

We had a terrible league campaign last year, yet still had joint 3rd best defensive record. This to me suggests the problem is not with the personnel. We sacrificed our defensive solidity to score more goals this year and that has cost us at the back. We need to find the right balance between defence and attack and I don’t think buying new CB’s will address this problem.
I honestly can’t believe that people are suggesting that we get rid of all our CB’s this summer. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
