Hardly new news but The Express are now running the Skrtel to City story.
MANCHESTER CITY KEEN TO MAKE A MOVE ON LIVERPOOL'S MARTIN SKRTEL
MANCHESTER City are reportedly set to snare Liverpool's Martin Skrtel after he announced he is unhappy with his current contract.
Despite the defender having two years left on his current contract, Skrtel has now revealed that unless his current terms change he will be looking to spend his future elsewhere.
Manchester City will have to move quickly however if they want to claim the rising star, as the Slovakia player is also reportedly being sought out by Russian club Zenit St Petersburg.
The 27-year-old was vague yesterday as he spoke about his commitment to Liverpool, leaving a sense of uncertainty over his future.
"I am a Liverpool player for no because I have a valid contract", Skrtel said, adding: "I have more offers, but without the club's approval it cannot move."

I know journalists can be crafty and like to make a story out of nothing, but there are one to many articles pointing to Skrtel being a bit of a cock. If he’s starting to get above his station I’d get rid sharpish and watch him struggle without Dan alongside. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

No, I mean the quotes from a few weeks ago from him and his agent and now this, all basically alluding to the same thing.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostYou mean lots of articles reporting him making one statement?
FWIW I think we'll deal at anything over £20m and I think we could replace him comfortably with those sort of fundsIf we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
