What's with all this hatred with someone who's been a great servant for the club? And also sly digs at other managers? Yes the last two seasons he's been tosh, but on the whole he was a pretty good defender for us and got a few goals too. City came in for him in 2012, the following two seasons he was great for us for I'm glad we didn't cash in them.

He was never a good defender. He always looked committed because he threw himself into tackles and came across tough because of the tatts and skinhead look. But in reality, he was always out of position, didn't read games well, left his defensive partner isolated and was absolutely weak as piss. See the numerous times he got battered around by Benteke et al.

He maybe had a few decent seasons during his time, but the last was probably 2011/12 and he's been rubbish since.

That includes 2013/14 where scoring a bunch of goals (at both ends, 4 own goals!) didn't cover for his usual erratic defending.

Getting rid is long overdue.

i can remember one great season, but a few MOM performances amd plenty of cluster****s inbetween during the rest of the time.
